Today both ip vanish and Kodi disappeared from my FS 4k…had to reinstall both.
Any ideas why this happened?

I’m not sure what that means…both apps were just gone.
IP Vanish was in the cloud but had to completely reinstall Kodi/seren.
I use them everyday
Is this the new 2nd gen 4K Max? If so it has a new feature called offload.
To toggle the feature on or off, go to Settings > My Fire TV > About > Storage > Auto Offload > On/Off. By default, the setting will be auto-enabled. There’s no option to reinstall an offloaded app when its selected from the device settings menu, just the option to fully uninstall which will delete your user data.

No it’s the original 4k…about 4 yrs old, give or take
I cruised thru options and couldn’t find the issue or answer. Only things under storage is internal space which I have plenty.
I did find under manage apps “auto offload” which is off.

Older sticks don’t have the offload. Very odd indeed.

I did find it under manage apps…it’s in the off position….I think I read it a few weeks back here to put in off

Exactly. I’m going to get my old 4K Max out and fire it up again, but first I’m working on adding storage to my Shield Pro and helping another person, so it will be a few days. Learning never ends.

I have 4 sticks and a cube of all years and they all have the off load option. It must have come through in an app update. I have turned it off on all devices. Go into apps and you will see auto off load, click it off. I had to reload surfshark on two older sticks twice before I caught on.

Thank you but I DID find it today under manage apps I and it’s and been off for awhile (Troy poster brought it up)
That’s why I don’t understand how 2 main apps just disappeared. It’s “I gotta know” kind of thing with me

I have the Firetvstick 4K 2nd generation. I followed your instructions and toggled it OFF and ON and it gives the same description, “Automatically offload unused apps when your Fire TV is low on storage. App data will be saved so you can easily reinstall the app later.” If it is indeed stored somewhere where would that be?

I haven’t got one of the new 2nd gen Fire OS 8 Maxx sticks, but it’s my understanding that it can still be found in the all apps section and you click on it to reactivate it. But with 16 GB of space I can’t see why you don’t turn off the offload feature. That’s as much space as my Shield pro and even with the odd recording I do for testing it never gets full.
I couldn’t find it anywhere and had to completely reinstall everything. IP Vanish was in the cloud but still was not in apps had to do search for it.
Everything is off, had plenty of space on stick, so I’m still not sure how or why they went poof
