Anyone have the Skystream Max?

I would say this one stacks up well with the mecool km2

I thought that is what this is, sure looks like it.

Being in the US & all…if they made a box comparable to the KM6 for $20 more than what I paid…I’d probably go with them for their proximity & expected quality of support.

that 1st box is similar to the km6 except android 9 and older chip

Yep…hopefully, they will reply to me & maybe have a product line that we can compare prices & specs with other box brands.

They replied, but sent me the same site that throttlejockey posted…so maybe this is all they have

Looks like a rebranded km2 worth maybe $70

ā€œ providing the highest quality streaming serviceā€ā€¦does this mean it’s a preloaded with their own service?

Yes they use to be and are going away from the Tv part and selling boxes.

That’s what I was wondering. I know their boxes in the past had Kodi preloaded and they used to send updates to the tv box as Kodi needed updating . Back then their box was $225

Thanks for taking a look at it guys. I seen it in an email from them as I subscribed to them years ago. I was curious if anyone had one . It does look similar to mecool . I wonder if they have a contract with mecool where they buy a certain amount with their name on it  I’m tempted to buy one but my wife will kill me. Just bought a new tablet this week out of curiosity :see_no_evil: :pirate_flag::pirate_flag::pirate_flag:

Go ahead and buy it, tell your wife this box is a life essential thing and she will understand :clinking_glasses: :grimacing:

yep this one has av1, the first one didnt. These 2 boxes kinda remind me of the mecool km2/km6 combo. Each has a little but would be awesome combined.

I bought a SkyStream Pro 8K 2 years ago. I like the box itself. It came with Kodi pre-loaded. Netflix, Tubi, Pluto, YouTube, etc. were also pre-loaded. The box runs Android 9.6. In the Pro, I got 32G storage, 4G ram. Internet connection is the same. I really like the box. Runs great, was easy to set up, and I have had no problems with it at all. What I don’t like is the ā€œsupposedly great customer serviceā€. It just wasn’t there. The actual company might be in Florida, but the boxes are manufactured in China. It took over three months to get the box. I was on the verge of canceling the order when I finally got the order shipped email. If you have any problems with the box, good luck getting any real customer service. I have not gotten an OTA update in over two years. Not that it matters. Don’t fix what isn’t broke. The next box I buy will be a MeCool. Either the KM2 or the KM6 Plus. I won’t buy another SkyStream. It has performed well but want better options then they offer now. Just my 2 cents.

Yep, my brother has one fully loaded and being a non-techie he has had issues with it and wants me to fix it. He claims he gets messages from someone telling him to install a vpn etc… to me thats a trojan backdoor setup where they can see what your doing. Ive told him I can fix it but it will be empty when im done…still waiting

Wow…sure would’ve thought that support would be better when ā€œlocalā€ā€¦I stand corrected :astonished:

You have enlightened me, & probably the whole board…thnx for the insight @Dminor9

Good box…bad support…duly noted :+1: :cowboy_hat_face:

I don’t know if they still don’t but they used to do customer support through Facebook . You join their group and you could message them. I don’t have Facebook anymore so I can’t look I to it.

My sister bought a SkyStream Pro and started having problems with it. It would boot up and then the screen would go black and stay that way. She called their support number and never got an answer. She left messages and received no answer. She then emailed several times and got no response. She looked into their Facebook page, but never got any help there either. That page is actually just streaming people like us who give advice, but do not really know the device. I think she still has the box in a closet somewhere, I might talk her into letting me have it and see what I can do with it. My brother bought a Skystream III before I bought the Pro 8K. He had nothing but problems with it and never really got a definitive answer how to fix it. So, he gave up and bought a MeCool KM2 and loves it. These are several of the reasons I will not buy another. My advice is stay away from SkyStream.

They had 2 Facebook pages. One was titled Skystream and the other I can not remember the name . I just remember the name was not related to Skystream or streaming . That’s where they were active giving people updates and helping you through the messenger. Been so long. It’s going to drive me crazy trying to remember the name of that Facebook group now l🤦
