They just don’t know when to quit.

No they don’t. I love my Max, but this is getting way to draconian. At least there are still options. Think I may change my mind about the 3rd gen max and wait for the new Nvidia Pro.

You are teasing me @miki! Man, I hope a new one is in the works and it gets announced soon!

I’m an eternal optimist, and I genuinely believe Nvidia has something in the works. Their devices have always been top knotch and a step ahead of the competition. So while their rep is riding high, it would be the perfect time to thumb their noses at the competition and introduce a new and awesome device. Fingers crossed.

Would love to see Wifi 6e, 8GB of RAM (minimum), upgraded Tegra cpu/graphics, 64 GB storage (minimum), along with everything else it currently offers. I would pay $299 for that and not think twice.

Lol. I was waiting for your response. Iknow, I know, the earth is flat. Right? But seriously, Amazon is now getting so bad even I will switch. I’m afraid they are going to use AI and make things impossible for “free” streaming. So bite the bullet and go all in for Nvidia. Know anyone that can help an old codger set it up?

I’m pretty sure you will not have a problem :joy:… a little cussin’ along the way but that’s to be expected and part of the fun.

I am so glad that I blocked my Max when I did just before the update and running wolf launcher the way it was meant to be run. My older 4k, who cares what they do. For me, there was just nothing more I wanted to let them put on my stick as I use none of their apps at all so any update they might push out, would be for naught for me. I still go by “If it ain’t broke, Don’t fix it”

You shouldn’t have to go through such lengths just to keep a streaming box customized. It is very clear who Amazon wants their customers to be, and we aren’t it. They don’t sell their devices for a loss for nothing.

A blocker that many people used, a launch manager and wolf. Took next to no time and I never have to touch it again. Amazon can’t touch it either and that’s the good part. I know Miki used to do this long ago then finally decided to let the Max take the updates. I didn’t. Matter of choice really. We are absolutely not the customers they want or are we? We still paid, they run their ads on ones not blocked. I have a good feeling their market share is weaning. I doubt these devices are at a loss really, they cost nothing to manufacture like all other electronics. Their profit is huge. It’s why electronics are not really fixed anymore. Throw it out, replace it. Nothing there to fix anymore and not worth it.

I fully believe selling the Max at $34.99 is around cost for Amazon. They run this sale darn near weekly, that in itself is a huge red flag to me. Yes, we paid, but making $0 profit on a box or stick is nothing to celebrate. Their target audience is obviously someone who has never heard of cord-cutting, sideloading, etc, that way the real profit can begin when they get the stick home.

Shortly after I buy my Z11 Pro Max, the new Shield will come out which won’t be good for me or wallet or relationship with Wife

No doubt. Lets hope you have better luck than that.

If, and that is a big IF, Nvidia does have some sort of a new device in the works. I doubt if it would be released until this Fall. At best we are looking at maybe around late September.

Either way, I will be buying a few more when set up the extra bedrooms, and family room.

Remember when Amazon knots you off to resign on to kodi and make your site expert again, then the movies work again on kodi, at least for me.
