Just my two cents. Learn to fish for yourself!
Can silk be set to download at all?
If you don’t know ask there are no dumb questions accept the the one you don’t ask about thats how we learned .
No you can’t download and activate an APK with Silk. When using the Firestick I used Silk as it’s optimized for the Fire OS and I installed “Downloader” to download APKs and install their corresponding APPs.
This question is for Firestick users using Silk Browser. I have searched the Insider and couldn’t find related issue/solution.
Problem: can’t watch videos from thetvapp nor tinyzonetv on my firestick 4K Max. They both play without problems on my android phone. I tried reinstalling, now it won’t let me change to Google search engine.
Had trouble viewing video in full screen with TVBro and Brave. I know how to navigate around Silk browser.
Any suggestions on possible fix?
Silk no longer shows up in my MANAGE INSTALLED APPS. I still have the app but I can’t clear the cashe and stop the app like before.
Anyone else?
Try delivering it to your device by using your Amazon account, logging in and delivering it to your stick then sync it.
It’s on my device, It is no longer on “manage installed Applications” so that I can clear the cache and force stop the app like before.
Have you tried going to the app store finding Silk, and seeing if you can update it? I assume you’ve done a complete power cycle on your stick where you unplug it from everything including the TV and leave it for a few minutes and then plug it all back in and see what happens. If it’s still on your device it should show up in apps>system apps and you can start it from there. Also give sideload launcher a try.
I ended up deleting Silk and reinstalling through Amazon website and sent it to my firetv cube and it now shows up in Manage Installed Apps like before. It’s a more current version.
I must have misunderstood something as I thought you had said you could not access Silk at all, as in stop the app and clear the cache, and it didn’t show in your APPS, so how were you able to delete it?
have you turned off. offload apps.

But you have it reinstalled? If it is in your account, as the fire OS come with Silk pre installed and is in the System apps and won’t be in your Installed apps as you don’t install it initially just activate it, then going to the link I gave you and finding your account you should simply be able to do a Sync which should then make it visible for you. But you said you have deleted it and reinstalled it so somehow it must have been visible for you. As long as you got it now then you’re G2G. Have a great day.
