I still have a older and newer gen Max, and they sit in my drawer. I pulled out my newer one, and noticed it is on 8.1.3.4. I found this article (I never use or visit Firestick Hacks because they steal Troyās content), but just for this I was curious. It is about using āNetGuardā to block updates. I tried it, and it does error out and keeps me on .4, where .6 seems to be the issue update in this thread. If anyone else is lucky enough to have avoided the newest update, maybe this is a way to get around it in the short term. How to Block Updates on FireStick [New Method, 2025]

In Troyās article Amazon Now Blocking 3rd Party Apps on Firestick (Full List), he mentions 8.1.3.6 is the version that breaks some sideloading.
I have not updated my 4K max still on 6.xxx yet apps have been disabled so there is no way to stop them.
Very few apps have been disabled what ones are you losing
Greetings Iām sure Iām one of the few old geeks that likes control over things like playlists so for me as long as I can run TiviMate with my own custom playlist and guide on the FireStick - Iām good - Anyone know if that is on/in their sites to nix? Regarding the Onn 4K Pro device - awesome performance but I hate all the adās that google seems to be pushing on you.
What Ads are you seeing on the ONN 4K? I guess it depends on what you use your box for. Frankly I never see any ads since I am only on the home screen for about 10 seconds. When I open up the ONN I either go into KODI or my IPTV App. Thatās all I use the box for.

Iāve gotten rid of my 2 firesticks and a cube for an Onn 4 K Pro and 2 Shields.Sorry Amazon youāre doing this to yourselves.

Its not effecting 1st generation firesticks, The only APP I cannot use any more is remote adb shell.

Has anyone else had problems with XCIPTV? A few weeks ago,my wife noticed a problem. Soon afterwards, I noticed problems on my set. Program opens up well, but stutters upon daily update. Tried an uninstall and reinstall. This worked for about a week. Now all it does is spin during update, stall out and repeat, continuously. Removed them completely and went with TiViMate. And Smarters Pro. No problems with either. Also dumped Firestick for ONN 4k Pro. Will switch out other when Firestick crashes altogether, Thanks in advance!
Iāve got the ONN 4k+ box and Onn stick in the UK. I bought them on trips to the states and brought them home. They both worked seamlessly out of the box. No VPN needed for set-up but of course, I use a VPN for daily use. Regarding power supply, just use a lead connected to your old firestick adapter.
What about cinema HD is that blocked too? I tried to download it it wonāt take help?!?!
