Amazon Now Blocking 3rd Party Apps on Firestick/Fire TV

Yes you can turn it off; however, it’s not something that was there when I purchased the tablet and I wasn’t aware of when it was added. It’s crazy how they have a link next to each archived item that is titled “reinstall from archive.” If they are aware (and they are) that you’re not going to be able to reinstall the 3rd party apps, then why even offer it? They think we are idiots or something.:joy:

P.s. I won’t be getting anything else from them in the future. Amazon is shady…

Well, Livenet TV is still up and running on my Firestick (4k max). Seems Amazon shut it off but then re-instated it (?) Still requires you to share resources when installing/setting up (the plot thickens)!

I’ve given up on Fire devices after 2 firesticks failed. Been buying ONN devices and I am all in on them. Best bang for the buck

Good Morning,
Maybe I am a little confused. My understanding is the OS 8.1 is a new operating system for new Amazon devices and I am running OS 7 on several older devices. Older devices can’t be upgraded to a new OS, only new devices loaded from the factory. Even after all the change to Vega, the older devices will stay on whatever their previous version was. Therefore if that is correct any older device running less than OS 8 cannot be upgraded to Vega 8.1. I don’t know if the older versions will still receive security updates but if I am correct the older devices should still be capable of side loading apps. In conclusion when the older devices die I will hope there is something out there to replace it. Currently I am also running a couple of ONN devices Any advice on how much I said is true will be greatly appreciated.

Any OS 7 cannot be updated to OS 8. Vega is not yet out on the sticks. Last bit I read said summer 2026 for Vega. Security updates will be provided for at least 4 yrs from the date of release for a specific model. BTW it isn’t Vega 8.1 it’s FireOS 8.1. But all of this may be just speculation. Android TV 14 may be the Vega killer. Amazon has done this before, shelving claimed changes even years after developing. The Android 14 update that may be causing Amazon to cancel vega on Firesticks is just a rumour at this point and I have not read about any official statement.

I’m not aware the even OS8 devices could be updated to Vega.

They can’t. One based on linux the other on Android.

I woke up this morning to find out that my Firestick 4K Max marked the FileSynced app as blocked/unusable, and it will not launch. It’s one of my favorite 3rd Party app stores. Add yet another reason to stop using Amazon devices.

Oddly enough it isn’t just your firestick. On my Buzz P6L I decided to check out the filesynced library as I have found some great apps that I didn’t know existed, and I was blocked by my security from going to the site due to what it said was malicious code on the site. So I gave up.

Kodi seems to be blocked on Firestick 4k max. Can’t open it and when I downloaded it from the TP toolbox it doesn’t show up in my apps.

Turks app now blocked by Amazon i found this downloader code 2115855 and it seems to work ok now

Add SportsFire website to the list: sportsfire(.)tv. I’ve tried on Mozilla Firefox, Silk, Downloader, Samsung tablet A9+, Amazon 10 tablet, ONN Pro, etc. No Luck!
I wanted to use their “contact us” on the website to find out why I couldn’nt get it to work (it will download but no icon and no OPEN icon in app info) but the website is not allowed access to the internet.
The apps previously loaded still work with buffering and instability … but they’re free!

Where did you get your USB drive? How much storage space does it have? Thx
