Why are products so high in canada?

Our dollar sucks. That’s why Americans come up here for holidays for every dollar US you get about a dollar thirty CDN. But when we’re paying about $7.20 cdn a US gallon for gas, the money doesn’t go far. About $9/imperial gallon.

Don’t really know much about those Fire Cubes’s but a quick glance at the Spec’s makes me think the new ONN 4K Pro is going to eat into those sales. Can someone tell me why I’d pay $30 more for a device with 1/2 the storage?

Nope, not to mention being locked into the Amazon ecosystem.

Well, it still has the fastest cpu on the market for a streaming box. Would imagine that still appeals to us tech junkies. I want to leave my opinion of the Amazon units out of it because technically you can still sideload this device.

Sent you a pm so I don’t get in trouble :joy:

I agree. If looking deeper, and not trying to cause a flood of Amazon haters, facts are the Onn Pro is using a 2 yr old processor and for those with refined tastes, the Cube simply outperforms the Onn. But that being said, the Onn does a wonderful job, for the vast majority, for less money and that’s a huge draw.

@Miki lots of us here are not Gamers. when you say outperform how so? I am extremely happy with the ONN 4K Pro. What advantage would the Cube give me that I don’t have now? I just think lot’s here get caught up in Spec’s when in a lot of cases if you aren’t a heavy duty gamer it doesn’t make a difference. Troy pointed this out as well in his Video of the new ONN

Oh I agree with you @MarkxG and we’ve had this discussion before, so I certainly don’t want to rehash all of it. The ONN is adequate for the masses, and average streamer, who are just wanting to stream on an old Walmart Samsung TV. There is nothing wrong with it, and even Troy has commented that he isn’t a huge techie and is satisfied with the picture and sound he gets on his equipment. After further research, and reading more comments that are less than complimentary, and are all over the net, for everyone to research, I certainly won’t be looking to get one. That being said, I also would not discourage anyone from giving this new Onn Pro a go. It’s a nice step up from previous models and definately heading in the right direction.

I hear you @Miki. That’s what I love about this hobby there is so many choices. I’m very happy with the ONN Pro using my fairly new Samsung TV!

Yeh, I’m been happy with my 4k Max. I only use the Shield Pro for Stremio since it has upscale ability. :sunglasses:

Like the comment…

Faster processing would make a difference even to us without refined tastes (LOL, Miki) on high end equipment. It’s not as important on the TVs that most of us own. But to some people, the increased resolution adds a lot to their enjoyment.

Omg. That’s 2 months worth of pension in Canada. So food or tablet? Tablet it is. I’m chubby anyway and learning to cope when I’m hangry.

Hello  I find dropping the hole tablet in a commercial blender with a couple of bottles of fingernail polish remover for lubricant. Then in a timely manner pulse blend on high until it forms a soupy mess. This step is a little more pricey, you add a hole banana and a handful of strawberries. Now blend on low until uniform color. Now it’s ready to suck down like a slurpee. Not the most nourishing but rather filling…lol
