Amazon effects on IPTV Smarters Pro Installed Apps

Suddenly the app in my IPTV Smarters Pro is buffering, buffering, buffering. I use a firestick 4k (old model) and ipvanish vpn. For no apparent reason cannot stop the buffering every 2 minutes. It is worse on live local channels. Some VOD don’t buffer at all. I’ve done all the known ways to help stop buffering, clearing cache, restarting router, tv’s firestick, etc. I started using VLC as my player to see if that would help. I downloaded TiviMate and buffered on that player. Do you think Amazon is doing this? If I go to Amazon or Spectrum everything works great. Doesn’t work great on the app I have that allows me to see other cities’ news, baseball and football games not carried by Spectrum. I tried a trial of another highly respected app and received the same resulting buffering. HELP. I have updated router firmware and everything else is current.

Possibility you have a bad feed into the house. Maybe a loose connection? Water got in? Who knows. Try changing your server location on your VPN. Could even be something wrong along the route to your feed.

Other apps (amazon, spectrum) on the firestick work properly. I have changed the server to here, there and over there. Didn’t seem to change anything. Would amazon be messing with me when the vpn is on? I do need that vpn.

Are these all the same source for your feeds? That would be extremely odd and not likely that only all your IPTV sources are affected and no other live tv.

they are all on same feeds. I do turn off vpn before I go to Amazon, but vpn is on when I accerss spectrum. Could it be a setting in my iptv smarters pro? I haven’t changed settings lately.

So your live TV is all from just one supplier? If so then that points to them being the issue and you should contact them and ask for them to reset your service in their panel.

This happens on two separate suppliers. Old app and a trial app installed yesterday, same problems with both in iptv smarters pro and tivimate.

How to Eliminate IPTV Buffering (Firestick/Android TV)

Buffering is caused by a myriad of things, can’t just assume this is Amazon messing with you. Maybe this helps you think of something you haven’t tried yet.

@AMD237 has a good source for you to read up on. I don’t know about Smarters, it isn’t an app I ever liked. In TiVimate I suggest trying a different size buffer.

This may be already tried, but…..

Users with the old Firestick 4K model experiencing issues with IPTV Smarters Pro typically face buffering, crashes, or installation failures often caused by EPG database bloat or corrupted app data rather than device incompatibility.

Recent troubleshooting indicates that the “App Not Installed” error is frequently due to EPG Database Bloat, where a massive 2GB Electronic Program Guide database from a previous installation prevents the system from indexing the new app, even if storage space appears sufficient. To resolve this, users must go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications, delete any old IPTV players and their data, and ensure at least 500MB of free storage is available before reinstalling.

For buffering or crashing issues, the primary causes are often corrupted app data, outdated app versions, or ISP throttling rather than Amazon blocking the app. The most effective fixes include:

  • Clearing Cache and Data: Navigate to the app’s storage settings to clear both cache and data, then re-enter credentials.

  • Checking Network: Verify internet speed (minimum 10 Mbps for HD) and try changing the DNS to Google (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1).

  • Disabling VPN: Temporarily turn off the VPN to rule out IP blocking or server routing issues, as some providers block known VPN ranges.

  • Testing with Other Players: Install apps like TiviMate to determine if the issue is isolated to Smarters Pro or affects all IPTV sources.

If the app still crashes or freezes, it may be due to insufficient RAM on older devices or outdated app versions incompatible with current server updates, in which case a complete uninstall and fresh reinstall of the latest APK is recommended.

Well, I can say something similar was happening to me on my 4K firestick and trying to watch my IPTV service. I had no issues prior, no buffering or anything. I tried all kinds of different things to try and help and nothing. I got out my old Formuler Z and connected it. Downloaded my Service to it and I have not had any issues at all. I also use IPVanish. No more firestick as of now. I have 3 of them sitting in a drawer now. Good luck and hope all works out for you.

The simpliest action is always the best. As suggested I deleted all the data and started over. It worked. Shame on me for not doing it before and thank you for kicking my brain in gear. I will look and replace the firestick with a box, but for now, It’s working. Thanks to everyone for putting up with mny ignorance.

I know this will sound crazy but when we have buffering etc especially when trying to watch sports we change the location on our VPN to Singapore and it seems to fix it. We have Surfshark and look for the circle next to the location to see how “full” it is and switch to it when it’s less than half full. Worth a try.
