Contacted IPVanish about not being able to access http://amazon.com/ with VPN on. Was told Amazon implemented blocking measures to prevent VPN services from accessing their content. Thererfore, some VPN locations maybe blocked. Chicago, Detroit, and Cincinnati locations have been blocked by amazon already.
There really isnt that many advantages of running Amazon.com through your VPN anyway. I would just bypass it. Amazon already has all of my information, so if they want to come after me for purchasing stuff, they already know where I am, with or without my VPN lol.
I don’t have my firesticks connected to the amazon account that I purchase from
Expressvpn lets me login to Amazon from Canada or USA. Just sayin
What on the Firestick are you concerned about not running through a VPN? It would be nice if you could use it for all, but accessing Amazon Music or Prime Video just isnt really that necessary in my opinion. Just another one of Amazon’s controlling ploys. They love to be in control.
I will be changing after my subscription expires Oct 24. I just renewed for 2 years. I had great lifetime special at $45 a year, with renewals every two years. Thinking about trying Surfshark.
I was using my phone. No problem with firestick. I just steam movies, but I do sometime stream tinyzonetv using silk internet. I don’t have any amazon subscriptions. I perfer free movie/tv streaming.
I watch prime with my vpn on, But like @AMD237 said, they know me and ive been with them a long time, maybe im grandfathered in ![]()
Amazon stuff hasnt worked for me for a long while now. I run everything I can through my VPN, but I have just accepted if I want to run Amazon stuff, then it is through a bypass of my VPN. So to be honest, I dont much anymore lol. I buy from Amazon app, but that is on my phone and PC.
What VPN do you have?
surfshark

I plan to change to surfshark as well. My current service doesn’t expire until Oct 2024
Amazon is not blocking vpns, this as been discussed. Allow amazon services threw your vpn
I don’t use any amazon subscriptions. I was just going to amazon to browse the site and I was blocked due to my vpn being on. My VPN was blocked and IPVanish customer service confirmed it as well. I should have not to turned off my vpn to just browse their website. I know that you are an expert, but I will agree to disagree with you on this one.
Have a great evening
Why are you using a vpn with amazon.com website anyway? And i said you need to allow amazon threw you vpn there is not a way around this.
I do all of my online browsing via vpn. I just have a big chip on my shoulder about all these restrictions amazon is putting on their customer. I don’t want to be targeted for sales, so I use vpn when I"m browsing around the internet.
I absolutely agree with you. However amazon is just… amazon. Cant really use a vpn on their crap anymore. If you are buying from them then thats the price i guess.
I don’t have any issues running everything through my ProtonVPN. I access all my Amazon accounts without issue. I never bypass anything. Maybe just lucky.
I think there is a certain block list amazon does. Or certain vpn algorithm it picks up. The mjor vpns are probably blacklisted.
I can use tor and use amazon.
Sounds about right. Thanks @Dracoo.
