Amazon blocked me! - maybe

So after wrangling with TFORCE and TMOBILE tech support, they are of the technical opinion that AMAZON is blocking my devices when connected via a T-Mobile home Internet system (aka Sagemcom 5g modem router).

  1. wifi ROKU TV works fine via SAGEMCOM TMOBILE router modem.

  2. FORMULER Ethernet or wifi works fine.

  3. IPHONE works fine. PIXEL android works fine.

Only my four Amazon devices do not work via the TMOBILE router. The amazon devices DO WORK if I activate a HOTSPOT on the pixel or the iPhone.

Have not used a VPN in the last year. Since my IP address typically changes randomly with T-Mobile. A forced change by T-Mobile with a new IP address has not made a difference.

Am not trying to be chicken little with my fire stick and fire cube and cry the sky is falling. But Amazon seems to be blocking me, and the Amazon tech support guy I talked to last night had no answers.

Would like to document this for the community. If am wrong, will definitely post back here again. Might be a cry to always install VPN.

Maybe it’s time to sell all my AMAZON devices. Maybe that is what Amazon is really telling me.

is there a wifi key on the router?
If so try

Oh it connects. That’s not a problem. It just blocks it from going to Amazon and getting all its advertising and updates of movies etc. Amazon.com is blocked from my T-Mobile modem router path. A factory reset makes no difference as it can’t even set up the device via T-Mobile. If I activate my verizon hotspot everything works instantly.

I’m not sure which Tmobile router you have. I have the white amplified one. I was having connection issues sometimes, so I turned off the built in security feature on it and haven’t had any issues since.

Do as posted above and if that doesn’t work try going into network settings of the FS devices and check forget wi fi connection. Hopefully gives it a refresh and then you can re enter it.

I do not have security features. It’s the Sagemcom 5588 black colored one. There is no security features in the tlife app.

The wifi network is not the problem. After it connects we get the message can’t connect to amazon.com

Well that is a strange one! Can’t get Amazon updates and such? What does Amazon say?

You might check your router also for the security settings that was mentioned earlier. That might be the problem

I had that gateway for 2 years and started having a few issues (we stream all of our TV’s through it). I was having problems with the gateway losing its internet connection several times a day, having to reboot it. T-Mobile Tech Support was able to go in and do a refresh on it, but she pointed out that it was an older gateway, and suggested that I take it to a company owned T-Mobile store (not an authorized reseller) and swap it out for the latest gateway. I now have the larger white gateway, and it works SO much better. I’d suggest you try that before pulling your hair out trying to get an older model to work for you. It could be the biggest difference!

By the way, I travel a few times a year for school for my job, and was trying to find an affordable option for WiFi on the go (the cable system at the school facility sucks). The day I swapped my gateway out, the rep at the store suggested I get a second gateway to travel with me. For another $35 a month, I have the same powerful 5G Internet to pack in my suitcase, along with a Firestick, and I now have the same TV services, as well as a good Internet connection) on the go that I have at home!

Happy Birthday @Randy61 . May you have a wonderful and buffer free day.

Let me think on that

I just recently got T-MOBILE and haven’t had a problem. How long have you had TMobile?

Just wondering, is it all of Amazon blocked by the WIFI or does your phone app and computer connect to Amazon for shopping etc?

Also, have to tried to sign out and back into your Amazon account on the devices?

I didn’t know regular ISP address could change. My VPN does when I reconnect but I thought your standard ISP was steady. Could this be why Amazon has an issue with the T-MOBILE router? Perhaps it looks like multiple users at different locations.

OM MY GOD. Stupid stupid T-Mobile. Was using an older gateway router. Now using a new one. Everything is starting to work now. Reading of others and the old one has some bad MTU setting in the tmobile gateway router.
