There is another alternative that’s been around for some time. The old version was called New Pipe but the new and improved version (Probably not even the same developer) it’s called Pipepipe and it comes with every feature such as downloading videos as well as being ad free already included in the app. Most modern methods require a separate app to download videos. It’s foss and can be found on f- Droid I assume. I get it from neo-store which consolidates a collection of repositories into one app. Anyways, the point is it’s not patched like Revanced or even SmartTube so I’m thinking it won’t be affected. Only if the artist themselves decide to put advertisements in their own videos which I’m saying as I’m laughing. Check it out if you’ve never heard of it. You can add your playlist and subscriptions by downloading your takeout file from Google. Not the entire thing but choose only what you want. Then simply import the zip into Pipepipe.
This sounds promising. I pretty much only use YouTube on my Windows PC and iPhone not on my TV or TV Boxes. Right now Adguard/Adblock are doing the job but I use YouTube daily so would like to have a backup. Can you provide a bit more info as it’s all kind of jumbled together. Yeah, here is the link to neo-store Github repo. You can download it from there and configure as many independent repos to include in it once it’s installed. I just choose all of them but the name of the app is Pipepipe. The only thing it lacks is native casting but it can’t because its Foss software and casting is proprietary to Google

To bypass ads in a youtube video place a " - " hyphen between the t and th u in the address bar. press enter and you can play the video.This turns on developer access to the video and it plays with no ads.
If a message comes up saying the video is inaccessible/unavailable, just hit the reload icon in the top toolbar.
