I don’t use a build, but I think your problem might be in the settings. Put the subtitle settings to us a4k. I don’t use opensubtitles because you have to sign up for it. When I go to subtitles during a movie, it says a4kSubtitles on the left hand side. Click “Download Subtitles” and the center will populate with different/various sub providers. (never opensubtitles). I usually sellect the first or second one and works great. I think by changing that setting will hopefully fix your problem At the end of the link from Kodi Beginners I posted tells you how to configure a4k on kodi. Good luck, and let me know if you get it. BTW, i’m using “homelander” addon.

FYI-I use kodi with a4k subtitles because when I watch a movie in stremio it seems like many times the subtitles are out of sync with the voice. I need subtitles, so that is really an annoying problem with stremio. Kodi with a4k doesn’t have that problem.
I use Stremio exclusively for VOD. Never had any sync issues at all, but I use RD with it and only turn on (forced) subs when needed.

I did actually set a4k as defaukt for tv and movies. Remove subtitles.com completely, and it still didnt work.

Thanks @PapaS . I have to admit I’m scared but it’s worse for the wife. She worries every hour of every day that it may spread and get worse and then I pass away and she’s left alone. But now it’s hurry up and wait. Our health system sucks and is near collapse.

Just got news this last Wednesday it has spread and I may now have Esophageal cancer. I have to go into hospital in 2 weeks and be injected with radio active stuff IV then get a body scan to see what is going on. Procedure alone takes 4 hrs.
