4K Playback issues on Nvidia Shield TV

Hey folks first post on here but a long time streamer.

I’m having issues when trying to view 4K content via Kodi Matrix 19.3. It stutters really bad, pausing and remote becomes unresponsive with commands while this is happening.

I’m using a 2019 Nvidia Shield TV (Tube) hardwired (600mbps HSI speeds) to a Hisense A6G 4K TV

I’ve googled and tried multiple settings with no luck. Any ideas on how to fix this? It’s frustrating to have a 4K TV and not being able to watch any 4K content on it

Hi there. Many settings you can configure or at least try. Look in developer options and start manipulating windows animation scale down to .5x as well as transition and animator…all try .5. While in developer there are numerous other settings you can play with…just take note of your changes so you can revert.

I have the Pro for 2 years now with no issues except on occasion it won’t start and just blinks the raster. Unplugging it fixes it. I haven’t upgraded Kodi, i’m still on 19.1. Some of my friends have complained about issues using 19.3. Try reverting back to 19.1 and see if your problem disappears!!

Terrific suggestions here, just to add to their suggestions, consider your device getting hot will have and effect too.

I’ve done that already… issue is only when using Kodi. I can watch 4K content via YouTube with no issues though

Looks like issues have been resolved.

I uninstalled 19.3 and reverted back to 19.1

Installed the same addons I used when using 19.3 and 4K playback working fine with no more issues. Thanks for everyone’s suggestions

I’ll hold off updating
