Thanks for any help from some who has done this. Thank you for any help for this old man.
Updated info. I use BT keyboard and mouse. So really don’t need a bunch of ports. Looking at Troys new video looks like the ethernet adapter may be the Asus one using an ethernet to USB adapter.
Miki thank you for your reply. I have the Firestick hooked up using the firestick ethernet adapter. But could not get it to work with the OTG cable. Using wifi the OTG cable storage would work. But not with ethernet.
I understand completely, but instead of an ethernet adapter hook it up as in the pictures and you should not have any problems. The hub is your ethernet adapter and your Cat5 (ethernet) cable plugs into the end of the hub.
Would the ugreen hub I listed be the one I need or something different or better. Thank you for the help! The hub you show has the micro USB for the firestick The one I listed has a regular USB output
.
Hey @jrclay Just an FYI…Troy used the UGREEN USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet Hub with USB 3.0 Ports as part of his setup in his 4K Max review. Not sure if it’s the same as what you’re talking about…
I ran into a similar problem with a 4K (non-Max).
For me it turned out that using the ethernet adapter cable made it so that the Stick wasn’t getting enough power to operate. So I’m using the device via wifi, which in my case, works good enough.
Thank you, everybody, for your helpful replies it seems the smays are the best setup from what I can see. Any other suggestions would also be appreciated and again THANK YOU ALL!
