😮 $46.92 Android TV Stick 8GB RAM 256GB Storage - Too Good To Be True?

I received an email from a fan telling me that I had to check out this unbelievable streaming stick.

It comes with 8GB RAM, 256GB internal storage and is running Android TV 16.

Of course I ordered one as I thought those types of specs are unreal for that price!

I just spent 40 minutes recording a first impressions video and I’m not even going to waste your time with it.

:fire: STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEVICE AND IF YOU HAVE ONE, THROW IT IN THE TRASH AS IT MIGHT BURN DOWN YOUR HOUSE!

WiFi speed was 40 Mbps and it took FOREVER to install apps.

I went to reboot the device thinking that may be the problem and when I did that I nearly burnt my hand the stick was so hot.

We are lucky to have the Onn Android TV Boxes in the United States. Don’t mess around with these cheap china boxes if you have access to an Onn box.

Agreed - the price for these specs should be a warning sign that this is a fake item, in this case dangerous

not too much in the spec dept either, where I always go to, but I’ll go out on a limb and guess 8gb ddr3 ram…but most likely worse.

Troy, bummer that you got a dud but I’m going to give you a different experience. I use ONN Boxes now they are great but hate to see you roasting these cheap chinas boxes again.

Before getting my ONN boxes I used 2 T95Z Plus AOSP “Cheap China Boxes” for about 6 years. Never had a problem, never cleaned them, never had any over heating problems, never shut em off.

And I never found the Malware I was told that was on them

Just giving you the other side of the story. Still have them. I retired them not because they stopped working I just wanted to move ONN

If Google ever goes the way of what Amazon is doing, I won’t think twice about firing those “Cheap China Boxes” back up and won’t even wipe the dust off :rofl:

I agree with you about the T95Z Plus and we had tutorials for that box and it is/was great. But buyers also need to understand that there are junk devices like the one I just tried. It’s not only junk but a fire hazard.

We will always be looking for good AOSP boxes that don’t break the bank and run well.

Attach a USB fan to it and see if that makes a difference maybe.

@lrrydelaney , or just spend your $$ on a product that doesn’t get so hot it could burn your hand, and possibly your house to the ground…
