I have three questions I hope someone can answer …
I tried to play Pandora on my Nvidia Shield Pro and there was no sound. I have sound on You Tube and Spotify…so I uninstalled Pandora and tried to download again. I get the message not enough storage to add Pandora I’m using 3.7 GB of 12 GB …shouldn’t that be enough to add Pandora? given it was already on my shield.
I used a thumb drive in the Shield to backup my EPG from Tivimate.Something went wrong and everything was deleted from the drive. I re-formatted the drive in my computer and put it back in the Shield. When trying to backup, I get a backup failed message.Do I need a new thumb drive?
I like to close apps running in the background and clear the cache. There are apps running in the background that I did use…such as Plex (not deleted) and Spotify. Do those automatically start maybe when updating? Not sure why they’re running when I’m not using them.
On the Shield Pro, if you want to shut down background running apps, double click the button with a white dot immediately above your mic button and this will open a screen showing what is running in the background, then scroll down to the X under each running app you don’t want running and click it. Then if you want to clear your cache click the hamburger button on your remote, scroll down and click Device Preferences, then click Storage, click Internal shared storage, then click Cached data, then click OK. Done.
Now “Running” may not be the best term to use as they are literally in a dormant “ready” state and not actually using any CPU cycles until such times as you open the app to use it. This is suppose to help speed up the loading of apps as they are “ready” to run having loaded the apps data in the background.
A lot of how apps act are solely dependent on how the Developer has coded them. I use to use Background app and process list but when the Shield already has that function built in, I deleted the app.
