There was an interesting episode of “Pablo Torre Finds Out” where he, John Skipper (former ESPN bigwig) & David Samson (former Marlins owner) discussed piracy.
Their common sense consenus was that the monetary damages cited by the DOJ & the content providers was significantly bogus. While there’s no doubt that there are damages, the price points charged by many of the licensed providers make it very likely that much of the potential audience will simply find other stuff to watch or to otherwise occupy their time.

Absolutely. They actually think everyone who bypasses paying would pay if they had no other choice.

Many people, I beleive, would just not watch it at all. Myself included.

I’ve been saying that for years. And it’s a fact,they just pull those numbers out of their you know what’s lol. I’d go mow the yard or sit on the porch and read a book before I’d pay for most of that crap. And so would most pirates.
