To go Along with JSRFrench, these Hisense TV’s with the google Operating System are no slouch, They will for sure hold there own against the big boxes.
For $800 it sure has some great specs. AI upscaling, Dolby video and HDR10+, 120Hz refresh. Not 8K but for my old eyes 4K looks amazing. Damn this sounds like a great deal. Congrats. I forgot 6e WiFi as well. Woohooo.
Wow. Here I thought my two 4K Samsung 65 inchers in the sunroom (blackout curtains on the sliders) was impressive. Redzone on one and the local game on the other during NFL season. Local MLB team on one now, but I find myself putting something more exciting than baseball on the other like REELZ channel Cops show for those times (most of the time) nothing is happening in a game. All ONN 4K or Pros. Wife has similar tv in her room, but I can’t stomache watching Bachelor in Paradise with her. And hey, we’re still married…
Wow, that does seem to be a deal. I told myself to stay away from Hisense brand because I had an LED strip burn out in one after only 2 years.
I think we’re all ready to give you the crown, (followed closely by carlbs) But Dude! Checked your profile and LOVIN’ that Mustang…and please tell me that’s not your wife!! lol.
Kinda like my Sony going down after spending $$ for a highest end Bravia.
But I want to tell ya - once you put the 100" in the Cave, you will want nothing else unless larger. It is like being in person or better. The sound on the 8 is impressive and I have a Sony sound system attached to the 7.
I’m a retired International Oil Drilling Supt for Drillships and DP Semi-subs. We have been together 31 years, I’m still that ugly. Pic is a little dated like a decade. Picked up to restore a military Hummer for my son who is a hospital CEO. He says its identical to what he rode in Iraq snappin necks and cashing checks.
I would say that bigger is not always better…depends on the quality of the screen and the viewers’ distance from the TV.
I would agree that no matter how good of a smart system that comes installed on a TV, soon or later it’ll be obsolete, out of storage or even bricked from an update.
I wish that the ‘normal’ offerings were without an operating system with only 3 or 4 HDMI ports, a Display Port input and the RCA AV connections along with a TV tuner.
I can see where the 100" would be nice if you had a really large space. My tv room/sunroom is about 20’x18’ and 65" seems to be a good size. I do have a decent surround system hooked up (Yamaha Natural Sound receiver, JBL Riverside center channel and Definitive Technology speakers on other channels and amplified subwoofer). I usually have the second tv muted and playing the lesser of two channels.
I haven’t shopped for tvs in a while, but I get the Best Buy Deal of the Day emails and it seems every one of them (on BB deal of the day) have built in Fire or Google or Roku systems. Can we no longer get a tv without them? Basically you are talking about a monitor with a tv tuner.
If you want a premium LG Oled the 97” TV it’s $25000 lol
I would bet that most people that buy a new TV do not side-load for streaming. I’m thinking that they just watch local channels from an antenna or use, maybe, Prime, Paramount+, Hulu and Netfix. So having a basic Amazon/Google setup is all that they want. Side-loaders are certainly in the minority.
Is that what it’s come down to now? That we are called “side-loaders”?..lol But good point.
I wear the badge proudly.
I do agree with you regarding most consumers on how they use their operating systems. The thing is, even if they only use Netflix, etc, the obsolescence, bad update issues remain the same.
I Got the Sony A9 Oled and I have weyd Syncler and iptv working of the tv with no boxes added. But I use extended storage and Surfshark It’s deffinately the best set up hands down. But there’s a new software update on the tv and im not updating because Im worried it might block some of these apps am I correct
