I still don’t see the purpose of turning on SI upscaling in the SJ3 if you have a flagship tv. Sure it’s just going to just hallucinate details over what the much more expensive TV is going to do with 729p/1080p content ---

I’m my case I have the 83" LG C1 OLED so I’m thinking the LG a9 processor is going to do a better job. And this is just for live TV. I wouldn’t think 4K Remuxes need AI upscaling on the SK3 but I obviously could be wrong and I’ll play with it when I get my SK3 to see if it doesn’t produce edge and banding 😁 ---

Just received SK3 about 10 minutes ago and probably won’t get a chance for a couple of days to play with it. On my SK1 using a newer Hisense TV, I shut all the upscaling on the SK1 off and let the TV handle it. Did alot of playing around with this and for me I found trying to use both at the same time just didn’t produce a better picture. Alot of reading on this and a common theme seems to be trying to use both in most cases will conflict with each other causing unwanted video issues. 🤔 ---

I have an LG 65” Oled and can vouch for the fact it has a better, sharper picture with my AI upscaling enabled on my Ugoos boxes than it does without it. To see what Ugoos upscaling is all about, look at Troy’s review of the AM9 and his detailed description of the AI upscaling process. I also did a side by side picture comparison on my Oled with a Ugoos box with upscaling and another box without it and regardless of the TV’s upscaling capabilities, I got a better video image with the Ugoos AI upscaling enabled. ---

Just fought for 6 hours with this SK3 and it’s going back. Couldn’t get Nuvio, Kodi or Weyd to play anything, just freezes then the box gets totally stuck and can’t navigate anywhere, have to unplug to restart it. Tried 5 factory resets with no luck. 😤😒😕🙄 Holy crap 104 bucks to ship it back, never again.😔 ---

Well that f\*\*\*ing sucks since I use all of those as well. I should get mine next week. If returning it costs that much maybe wait for a firmware update? Dunno. If I have the same issues I’m going to be seriously pi\*\*ed off. I don’t understand why it wouldn’t have similar firmware to the AM9 Pro and just work. I get that it has a different processor and graphics chip but come on. Android 12 shouldn’t have those issues at this point. Are you trying to play 8k content? ---

I tried everything and this thing was glitching right out. Couple of times I would try to access settings and they would be super enlarged so I could see the odd letter but had no idea where I was in settings. ExpressVPN app interface would keep changing sizes drastically for no reason. Not my internet it’s over a gig. SK1 doesn’t have similar issues at all. Couldn’t even get a Dolby Vision file to buffer in Dolby, it kept choosing HDR on its own. Got a lot of boxes and all I do is tinker and never came across anything like this so I hate to blame it on me.😅 I’m thinking I got a drunk box.😅 Hope you have better luck, like I say none of this crap ever happened on the SK1 other than the playing Dolby Vision in HDR but a reboot fixes it right away. No, just 4k. ---

I just checked [Download Center](https://ugoos.com/downloads) and of course there’s no firmware or user guides posted so no updates. I guess I’ll see what my sk3 does when I get it but I’d be tempted to keep it and hope for an update with that return shipping cost. Damn, now I’m not hopeful but I’ll let you know ---

I was so pissed and stressed out over this whole thing, I jumped the gun and it’s already shipped. I just didn’t want to be out the whole 500 and waiting in limbo for who knows how long or maybe forever. ---

You’d have to hope they are active with firmware updates on their flagship. I mean the am9 pro got Android 14 and a bunch of updates. Maybe I’ll have more patience if it’s borked for me as well. I wish they had a discord in English that you could get support. It’s odd because something like Kodi or Plex seem like obvious candidates that would be tested on any box they have since I would think that’s what the majority of users would be buying it for ---

Like I said it was probably just a one off. My luck seems to run that way.🤷 Furthermore I wouldn’t worry about yours being that messed up, there was something up with this specific box doing the things it was doing. ---

Wonder if it had bad RAM? That would explain the freezing. Could have been damaged in shipping. Regardless, it’s ridiculous they charge that much to return it. That seems completely unethical ---

Could be just that. It came terribly packed, just the box with a non protective plastic bag on the outside and both corners of the box were pushed right in even though the box itself is quite sturdy. So it took enough pressure to push them in.
