I had already set it away from Auto resolution and the setting was holding after the latest update. The color was set to 12 bit. If you want Dolby Vision, you have a choice between 8 and 12 bit.
@MNBob - are you converting everything to DV? If so, does it still happen if you turn off conversion or if you switch to a different chroma space (just to try to eliminate possible causes)
The flickering can happen anytime, usually on the launcher screen. I have installed the Wolf launcher so I thought that may be the cause. I lose control when it happens and the only way out is to power cycle. Funny though, it doesnāt do it all the time or predictively in response to some action.
Which power brick you all using on AM9 Pro ? Iāve tried 3 different ones. Using a 20W Apple one for now.
Thanks for asking. I went back to the stock power brick, as a new one did not seem to make any difference. What I did do is to delete the Wolf launcher for a week, and I have not had any flashing screens. The Ulauncher is OK, but I could not figure out how to add to the favorites row.
However, I really missed my widgets as I always have a Weather widget and a Surfshark widget at the bottom of the screen. So then I installed the ATV Pro launcher, which is a relative of Wolf. The weather widget shows me the current temperature and forecast and will switch to radar if rain is in the area. The Surfshark widget shows whether the VPN is on and what location it is out of.
The new set up has been OK but when I came to the box yesterday it was non-responsive so I had to do a power off reboot.
I had an issue on my AM9 Pro recently where suddenly the mouse pointer wasnāt working, and neither was the voice remote feature. I combed through all the settings, changed my remote controlās batteries, updated apps, confirmed my firmware was up-to-date, but couldnāt figure it out. Finally, I discovered that the Bluetooth setting on the device got turned off somehow, and that was preventing these features from working. The remote was still functioning via IR, but the Bluetooth required features such as mouse & voice wouldnāt work. Iām posting this here in case anyone else ever runs into this issue. Start by confirming that your Bluetooth didnāt get inadvertently disabled, and save yourself the time it took me to troubleshoot this

Awhile back I was having issues with powering on my AM9. It appeared that when powering on the device I would have to hold the remote next to the box. In other words it seemed that to power on the system it was using IR instead of Bluetooth. I did a long power down which seemed to work. But occasionally it seems to get fussy and not play nice. I figure that itās just being temperamental 
.
My Ugoos AM9 seems to have started playing choppy video playback on some of my sports channels only on my vtpi player, run the same playlist in another player and all is good, not sure what is going on, maybe factory reset is in order. Not looking forward to that.
Not just your device, I have had this as well on my P6L. Trying to sort it now but it does seem to be my IPTV player at fault.
You are 100% correct. I have 2 AM9s and both work flawlessly. Any of the few hiccups Iāve had have been caused by the IPTV source, IPTV player or internet dropout. Oh yes, and remote batteries occasionally need replacement. Itās too bad Ugoos stopped making the AM9 and only offers the more expensive Pro version.

Just use my other player - TG, still working with this one, lots to learn to get it the way I want
Just do a force stop and cache clear on your individual IPTV player apps from time to time along with disconnecting and reconnecting your power connection to your internet modem and streaming device. That usually clears out all the crap that comes in.

@sim_bill Did all that you have suggested with no luck, reset the box to factory and now just setting it up again. Stay tuned will take me some time to get everything installed and running.
I have had a friend who bought an AM9. I helped him set it up and all was well until he reconnected his smart tv to the internet, which allowed for spyware installation by the manufacturer and resulted in some of the problems you mention. I had him disconnect the internet and get rid of as many of the TVās apps as he could. Also, I told him to use a VPN on the AM9 to prevent throttling and disruption of his streaming by his ISP. He has had no problems since doing that and regular maintenance, (force stop and cache clear of apps and power disconnect/reboot of modem).
@sim_bill Interesting, my TV that this was hooded up on was not a smart TV, so not sure if this would apply to my problem, but nice to know as I do have 1 smart TV that my Onn 4K pro is hooked up tp

You bet. The worst TVās are loaded with spyware and your data is mined and monitored by the manufacturer. The worst offenders are Roku TV and Amazon Fire TV but most smart tvs pretty bad and the best thing you can do is avoid those brands along with disconnecting the internet to your tv.
