i save alot of movies to my several 4TB hard drives to watch as i have time and keep the ones i treasure to watch several times so the smaller file sizes are easier for me to store..i have several thousand books and movies stored and have barley used my storage space…720P & 1080P are upscaled on my newer 75" LG tv and look pretty good to me…i also have a 5.1 sony surround sound system with 2 subwoofers and the sound is awesome
Preference and accessibility. If you have the space and prefer the larger files, why not. I have never cared to go over 1080. I rarely see the difference. Definitely not enough to want to use up 4 times as much space for the same movie.
@MarkxG, Why/how do you access this content without fear of ISP throttling or other ramifications? It seems you may be inviting some dire consequences.
Been streaming for almost a decade now. No ISP throttling, ramifications, or dire consequences. I access the content via KODI or my IPTV service
File size was an issue when there were monthly data limits and download speed was limited.
Now with fibre connection / unlimited data / fast download speeds - peeps want quality
