Torbox having API issues right now

On the Torbox site they offer three choices. “Torrent”, “Cached” and “Download Ready”. So if you just want to watch the movie/TV show, now, do you select one of the three options before you are able to watch the movie? Or do you just search the movie on your device and Torbox supplies it?

This! I only go to the TB site to DELETE all the files that accumulate on that screen every week or so. The links pull up just like PM or RD on KODI or Stremio/Nuvio.

You don’t need to do anything on the Torbox site except copy your API key. You set up cached or uncached torrents in the the particualar addon you are trying setup. If you use Duck Streams to setup your addons, it will use cached torrents by default. It’s up to you you if you want to delete your downloads on the TB site. I just leave them be like i did with RD in the past.

Jerry I’m hella confused what you are trying to do. Are you trying to watch or download movies on Torbox? I hope not.

Have you ever used Real Debrid? Torbox works the same way. I’ve never had to mess with any of my Torbox settings for cached torrents or any of my settings for cached torrents in KODI Umbrella. All I ever get are cached torrents. Those are what show up as Downloads in Torbox but you don’t download anything.

Simplyu type your API Key into the Torbox area of the KODI addon much like you would do for RD

If I missed the point or am way off base sorry not 100% sure where your issues with Torbox lie

Downloads has nothing to with your stream history like it did with RD.

The download section pertains to uncached torrents that are not available as cached on the Torbox severs at the moment.

If an uncached torrent has seeders than you can download that source through the Torbox servers and it will show up in your download section and not the cached section.

That is the only difference I see between the download and torrent sections of the torbox website.

Wish that were entirely true. As I stated, even setting up addons to just use cached sources and adding the TB api, TorBox still downloads to my dashboard and I have to clear it all out every few days. I’ve never contacted them to ask why as it really is easy as you can clear all the downloads with a couple of quick clicks.,

Everything I watch on KODI Umbrella are cached torrents. The Download history in Torbox mirrors my KODI watching history just like for Real Debrid

Very sorry for all of the confusion. I’m still a newbie with Torbox. I currently have subs with RD, PM and Torbox.

I am just trying to understand what the “Download” part of Torbox is for. The movies/TV stuff listed in my Torbox app (on my Mac), are stuff that I tried to watch but no links were found. Also, when the link listed did not present a working link.

With RD, the logs of watched movies/TV shows are just that. Stuff that was watched. The stuff in the “Download” section of Torbox is stuff that didn’t work. I am just trying to understand why Torbox would have a listing of stuff that wasn’t watched.

Yeah I thought it was stuff that was watched like RD but maybe not? I wouldn’t be concerned you can delete that every so often like deleting your RD logs

Honestly i find no difference in the Streams Torbox provides vs that of RD when RD wasn’t having issues. My RD could very well still work but it expired and with Torbox I don’t need RD anymore. Getting 90% of my shows/movies from my IPTV provider now so rarely do I use KODI these days

Ah, that’s what I was looking for. Thank you Matteos!

So since I didn’t gt to watch the stuff that is listed in the Torbox Download section, how am I able to watch any of those selections? Believe me, all the stuff that showed up in my Download section are really obscure and way out of CR protection.

Solowarrior,

Torbox doesn’t have any user logs like RD did.

RD download section showcased any stream you watched or any file you downloaded using their resources.

Nowhere on the torbox website do I see anything pertaining to my watch history like it does on RD download section.

In the torbox main dashboard, unless you apply any filters, the dashboard will simply showcase any sources you have added to your account cloud.

So for instance you may see 6 Downloads and 6 Downloads Ready.

This means you have six torrents added to your account cloud and all six are available to download if you choose to do so.

The term “download” is misleading when comparing it to RD because it doesn’t really compare to the user log/usage history that RD subjects its users too.

JerryJ,

Make sure that you enable cloud scraper in all of your addon settings for whatever “debrid” provider you are using. Some cloud settings are under the account tab and other cloud settings are under the source options tab of addons.

My cloud settings are as follows:

Enable cloud scraper > On

Store resolved items in cloud > On

Terminate search on Cloud Sources > Off

Show cloud sources first > On

This should allow you to access those downloads when searching for the content again within addons.

Another area to check is the “Premium Services” or “My Services” sections of the addons opening navigation menu. In this section you can view and play items stored in your cloud. You can also delete files you’re done viewing without having to use another device.

Remember that if a source is already cached it will play immediately. If a source is uncached, then you have to wait for Torbox servers to download it and then watch it. If a download never is completed then there were no seeders and the process couldn’t be completed.

Sorry for the long post everyone but because of non-patron limitations I am only able to reply once a day. I would love to share more of my thoughts, but alas the guidelines have been set and must be upheld.

Hope this was helpful!

Matteos, thank you so much for the info. I will try to play around with it over the next few days.

I do have a question, do I need to do anything on the Torbox app to make the cached download work? Or do I just go directly to the addon, that has Torbox set up and functional and do a search for the title?

JerryJ,

You shouldn’t have to do anything on the Torbox app. Just verify that download is “ready” on the Torbox app and not incomplete. It is possible to add uncached sources that will fail to download because of a lack of seeders.

I highly recommend checking out the “Premium Services” or “My Services” areas of addons such as POV, Umbrella, The Gears etc. I am very confident that any of your sources will be accessible in this area of the addons.

Otherwise, enable the cloud scraper settings I have recommended and just search for the content again and the addon should display the cloud content once the search is complete.

@Matteos I’m gonna check my cloud scraper settings too for my KODI add ons. Thank you.

For those of you still using TB it is currently offline.

Working just fine now. Up and running.
