Have been using Surf Shark for a number of years. Have been using Stremio and Apollo TV with no major issues, but as of late, have been having trouble finding streams/connections. I know they are out there, and both apps work, but only when I switch back and forth between Surf Shark locations. Example: Apollo TV can only pull in sources when certain Surf Shark cities are selected(Apollo is set with my 2 favorite locations/stations). Then if I switch to Streimo for programs I watch, I get no feeds found, until I go back and change cities in Surf Shark, then they pull down with no issues. City examples are Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, Miami. I also have both Real-Debrid and Premiumize as plugins. Just frustrating and time consuming to have to keep switching back and forth between city locations in Surf Shark. I really like Apollo TV as it is the only one I found that has my ā€œhomeā€ channels, when traveling. I am considering Troy’s suggestion on the new TorBox addon, but I really don’t think that is the solution here. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I use the BOOTSRAPPER Stremio set up with Charlotte Surfshark server location and get a TON of sources. Torrentio has been getting blocked with Surfshark recently but Charlotte works for me and allows Torrentio to populate.

BOOTSTRAPPER gives multiple great add ons so perhaps you need a few more add ons on your device. Highly recommend BOOTSTRAPPER.

Hello. I signed up for SS and Troypoint yesterday for the cyber Monday deals. Today while reading on your site, I see the add for Surfshark and it is still showing my old IP in the square saying my IP is exposed. When I check it on other sites it seems to be working. How can your site still see my IP ?

try clearing cache or reboot

After clearing the cache etc, my old IP was still coming up in the ad. I ended up having to clear the browser cookies also to fix my issue… At first I panicked. I feel better now, ha.

Hello, I’m a new member so I hope I have this right. I’ve been having problems getting my Outlook email using Surfshark. I deleted it yesterday then reinstalled it and found it had been upgraded to Ver: 6.6. the Previous Version did not list Outlook in the Bypasser section (there were only about 4 or 5 apps listed). But Version 6.6 does show Outlook and many more Apps. So I by passed Outlook and my computer sped up and no problems with getting email now.

Why not nordvpn? I have had both and know for fact nord gets faster speeds. I also know that speed isn’t everything as privacy is important also…..on almost every other question or issue I feel like we get Troy’s true and honest opinion. On this however I question, because if they are a sponsor are we getting the true opinion? I hope this doesn’t offend anyone, it certainly isn’t intended to.

I can think of a couple of reasons. Kill switch being at the top of the list. On Streaming devices Nord does not have one. Ad blocking for some is another point. I should point out, I do not have SurfShark but I do have Nord.

You are exactly right. They don’t plan on implementing a kill switch which I find strange as Nord owns Surfshark . Plus, speeds are very similar for me when comparing Nord and Surfshark (depends on server I’m connecting to). Most of speed boils down to the device you are using which we have covered many times. My video below explains that.

What good is a VPN without a kill switch? Time and time again I get emails from people using VPN on their streaming devices and they get a copyright letter from their ISP. I tell them to check to see if their VPN is still connected and usually it’s not. A kill switch solves this problem.

One big aspect we also look at is price. After the introductory price, Surfshark is substantially less expensive…roughly half the monthly cost of Nord!

Finally, let’s say I do get 20 Mbps faster speeds from a different VPN, what good does that actually do for me when streaming? It’s overkill. All I need is 15-30 Mbps to stream 4K content. We do look at speed when comparing VPNs but it’s one of many features. Surfshark now rolling out their new VPN protocol which advertises 30% faster speeds so looking forward to that when it hits Android TV systems.

Can not connect to any service with surfshark VPN, tried reconnecting several times and with different cities and countries with very limited results. Only way to use stremio or IPTV is with VPN off, any suggestions?

Try it with Clean Web shut off.

Hello, I have a video for both Surfshark VPN and IPVanish on the following page. You should be able to find a server that isn’t blocked that works with both Stremio and IPTV.
