When did 1.9.6 come out? I’m still fighting problems in 1.9.4 and couldn’t make 1.9.5 at all. I wonder if the new version would solve my issues..

I know you replaced 1.9.5 with 1.9.4…..any issues with the new version?
I had problems with 1.9.5 and bypassed it, so when 1.9.6 came out I jumped on it without issues. I know there must have been issues with 1.9.5 as it’s exceedingly odd for Stremio to release updates so close together. I would like to mention that I didn’t do just an update of 1.9.4 but rather deleted it and did a completely fresh install of 1.9.6 and my system is 64Bit so that’s the one I installed from Troy’s toolbox.
I updated to 1.9.6 and still have no sound …sent a ticket to Stremio and hope they have an answer.
Are you using Android 14?
I using an Nvidia Shield Pro. I had Stremio version 1.9.4 and everything worked well. Once I updated to 1.9.5 and now 1.9.6, no sound on exo and vlc players.
In stremio do you have Tunnelled playback and Hardware Accelerated Decoding enabled?
Oh and one more suggestion. Get the Just Video Player from Troy’s toolbox, install it and then set the player to external and play a movie then choose Just and see if that fixes it.
I have tried Tunnelled playback and Hardware Accelerated both on and off with the same results…no sound. The Just Player is the only that works. There is no option for iblvlc player.
And in the playback settings for Default Player there is only Exo? At least Just player works, which suggests that some audio codecs are missing.
How’s the 1.9.6 update? Is it good to go?
I have the 64bit one and no issues here.
Default is exo, I also have vlc and external listed ….
I know which ones are default. But you can use an external player as well. Even set it up to be used “always” .
1.96 works fine on Fire TV and ONN box.
What I was saying is the listing for libVLC is not there and the option for always or just once for the external player is also not listed as an option.
The option for always or once only shows up after you set it to “External” in the settings. Then when you start a movie a popup opens giving you the chance to choose which external player you want to use. I have Just Player and MX Player installed and I choose one or the other depending on the source. Now if in the settings you do not see the the options for exo or vlc in settings>default player and then clicking the little arrow to open your choices, or click enter on your remote with Default Player highlighted, you must have a corrupt install.
Stremio has sent me instructions on how to try to correct this…..what’s the best way for me to transfer a long url from my computer to the shield or to Stremio directly. I don’t want to have to try to type it.
So you need to use different players for some streams? I’ve noticed this too. If Just Player won’t play a source, Bear Player frequently will. What’s all tis about???
Is this for a Debrid service or an addon? Never in all my years using it ever heard of having to enter a code for Stremio. Just need a username/e:mail and password.
