# Stremio not working

There is a way to turn on embedded subtitles when you start a vid. On the top bar, once you’ve chosen a source and it begins to play, click on what looks like a mini keyboard just left of the hambuger on the top right, and you can turn on embedded there. Also in the home window of Stremio you can chose the Default subtitles language. Make sure you have added the subtitle addon in the addons module. Go to addons and on the top right click on “community” and select “Official” and scroll down to install open subtitles. If for some reason it’s missing\>

That’s all I know about subtitles in Stremio.

@Miki .Very many thanks. All language setting correct. Seems that some links are automatic and some are not.
And subtitles is installed correctly under community add ons.
I have tried built in player and also my mx player pro. Seems thst mx player now plays them automatically. So one happy viewer.😁🙏
Anyway, thank you for all your help once again.

Stremio is not working for me!! After selecting a stream to watch -
ACTION REQUIRED - To play content in an external player without interruption, the server must run in the background.
Just started happening yesterday. Any ideas? Any fixes?

No idea why it isn’t working for you. Go into the settings and enable it and see what happens. I don’t have mine enabled and it works just fine.

Is external player better than EVO, VCL or the other? If I select a player, it works. Just unsure which is best

Best is kind of a personal and subjective choice. I use Just Player and occasionally MX Player Pro, but some say the new MPV player works perfectly for them. So give everything a try and choose for your needs, what works best.

I can’t get Stremio to play. I’ve switched to every US location on VPN per the setup video, changed players. It goes to a black screen on every option I choose.

Does it work on another device? What device are you using? Have you tried things like a complete power cycle, VPN off, ad blocker off, if SS clean web off. Log out and back in, even delete Stremio, reinstall and log back in. What version? Give us as much info to go on as you can. Did this just start happening? Did you try say Nuvio? A different addon? What addon are you trying? Do you get sound but no pic?

I ended up having to factory reset and reload everything. So far so good. I didn’t reinstall stremio yet.

It was working but now when I go to a show now they all say “deprecated”. Any advice?

What addon showed that message? It isn’t a message I’ve ever seen in Stremio and been using it for years. Make sure you have the latest updates and try another addon.

I get a message saying I’m not a debrid user. Access denied! Been using flawlessly for awhile now. I tried the debridio feeds and same fault?!!
Any help?

What addon are you using. Do you get this message on all addons? Have you gone to your debrid dashboard and made sure your account is still active and it hasn’t been suspended for some violation or run out of time?
