Ignore it. Last week I friend got an email with a photo of his house asking him to send $ to a bitcoin account. Scammers.

Google maps can be useful, it’s a shame these low life’s are using it for scare tactics.

Call the police.

This just happened to me last month, except they took a Google Maps picture of my neighbor’s driveway a few doors down. My name and address (email) was part of a large data breach recently. Ignore it, and monitor her email for a while. Never heard anything else from those pathetic morons.

I am 72. Several friends as well as myself have had their email hacked. I changed all my accounts passwords and included two step verification. I have yet to receive a picture but I receive threats to expose “certain pictures” every day. I know they don’t exist so I used to reply “Go Ahead and publish them” but now I just delete them. I do receive phishing emails every day about payment for some or another “order” with a PayPal “invoice” which is obviously fake. For this reason I do not have a PayPal account. The source is probably from a data breach or the aforementioned hack(s). When I get a picture I’ll either ignore it (most likely) or reply “Go ahead, make my day” and hope they watch Clint Eastwood movies.

As far as Paull’s mother goes, My mother suffered from dementia before passing (in 2006) and although she was not online, she received phone calls all the time and not knowing any better, fell for every one. I don’t know if this is the case, but the elderly that may be infirmed by any malady are definitely susceptible to these attacks and may take them seriously. I don’t have a cure for that other than taking her check book away and that did not go well for me.

Who Karen?

She is 75 and retired. Not sure what your problem is markxg but let’s be respectful. Not sure if you was calling me Karen or what.

Hi Paul sorry this happened to her. But let’s get something straight here. I certainly did not call her or anyone else Karen and I am certainly not being disrespectful . What sucks is I have to defend myself here. I hope it all works out for you and her with this situation but as others pointed out it seems like a harmless scam that is happening to others as well. Enjoy your weekend

Go back 7 days ago. You said well Karen and spoke to me so I was asking if you was calling me that. You said it I just asked you. And your comments are disrespectful and if I have to tell
You that Mabe you should go back and read the rules. The F this and F that and old people could care less and on and on I felt was disrespectful. I don’t need an apology im just sayn you literally said the word Karen when addressing me so. Just tryn to clarify what you meant. I’m done with this with you. Good luck and take care.

Thanks to everyone who provided info. I been on here for years and never asked for help like that and was really appreciative that people actually had ideas to share. Some did some didnt. My heart goes out to those of you who shared your experience with your loved ones being targeted and I hope they are safe and sound. You guys are important to me and I appreciate it is all.

Also I read all the posts and I guess my original was vague. It wasn’t intentional. I’m going to post the original on here so people can see what’s going around.

And mark the email isn’t targeting her because she still works. She is retired and has been for 9 years. FYI
