# Opensubtitles won't verify. Newbie

I get the following message from kodi after beginning streaming a movie using Crew and asking for subtitles:

Error searching for subtitles  
Your open [subtitles.org](http://subtitles.org) username or password is empty or not  
valid.

OK. I have run through the checklist twice and the Kodi opensubtitles area reports “enabled”. Please suggest what I am doing wrong. Checked password and is good on open subtitles website and on initial entry during checklist.

Should I reload kodi or reload Crew or use MX player?? Using Firestick4K.

Hi @Linusbear  
You can try to enable and designate mx or vlc player.  
Sometimes, force close and clear cache helps.  
Others will have suggestions too, which are worthy of trying too.

I had problems with OpenSubtitles, too. I now use Subscene and Addic7ed.
