I have four Nvidia Shield Pro devices (which I love), and three of them are connected to Sony TVs, all of which are working great. However, the one attached to my TCL TV doesn’t always start up correctly. That same Shield was previously connected to a Sony TV, where it functioned perfectly.
My TCL TV runs on Roku, and I suspect this may be the source of the problem. Occasionally, it displays the message, “Output not found, please check connections,” even though everything is connected properly. When this happens, I simply turn the Shield off and back on, and then the TCL TV recognizes it.
I strongly believe that the issue lies with the TV and the inadequate Roku software powering the TCL. If you’re experiencing similar problems, I suggest connecting your Shield to another TV to see if the issue persists. I’ve noticed that LG TVs have their own software, which isn’t the best either.
I have all of my Shield devices connected to the HDMI ARC connection.
Good Luck!
I’ve got a TCL QM8 and never had any problems.
Make sure you have a 4K HDMI cable because the new TVs you buy are now 4K so make sure you got a new 4K cable and make sure your inputs are right
Grace, THANK YOU! This is a GREAT video. I subscribed to her pages and hope to learn more.
I have both my Nvidia Shield Pro connected to Samsung TV’s and they run smooth as silk.
