Where or what site was the data breach at ?
Thank you so much for this info and yes my email had been breached, I would not have known if you did not post this, again but thank you.
Agreed , I love TroyPoint, they are always in the pocket, but this is vague . Who was the target in this breach, for it to affect the 4@5 categories listed it had to be a bigger company or conglomerate of companies , also reading the cookies issue , this is not new and been a problem for years I find it weird that Apple and other companies did not make that list as well. We all know google tracks us the most. I’d love. More details on the breach , as someone who is in infosec & OSINT, and heck I’ve been to involved in multiple breaches by my cell provider, my ISP, and 2 other big companies. I’d like names so I can protect myself. With ya RODGOD!
I am no one . Thats an awesome name
I agree with some posters. Why did you not provide the who or what service was breached. I expect better from TROYPOINT. Are you just trying to push StartMail and Surfshark?
Umm. Can’t post a source when a source is not provided by the ppl investigating the breach. Kinda unfair to point a finger at Troy when some things are simply beyond his, or anyone elses, control.
Google is your Friend! Simple Google search and first choice reveals some of the platforms/services that may have been breached
“Cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler has revealed the existence of an open database that contains 184,162,718 million account credentials. These include email addresses, passwords, usernames and URLs for platforms such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook and Snapchat.”
Thanks @MarkxG Sounds like another troll who doesn’t like tp. Roll up your sleeves and do some work on your own if you want additional details.
Here’s another source.
We did provide that information.
The compromised credentials spanned major platforms including:
Email providers
Microsoft products
Social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat
Gaming platforms such as Roblox
Banking and financial institutions
Healthcare platforms
Government portals from multiple countries
And yeah, I push those products because they work and I use them myself.
Probably the same source that MSM always claims to have ..
Gotta wonder why passwords are being stored as plain text in this day and age. Passwords should be hashed and not able to be retrieved. For major services to be this lax is inexcusable.
Good guess. But unverified.
