Ipvanish trouble

I use to use IPVanish service with multiple devices connected through wifi and one android tv box connected via Lan, always experienced problems and errors with their service no matter how and to which server’s I connect the most annoying thing was their slow connection…
I’m
I’ve excellent internet speed 200 Mbs continuing from my provider I switched to NordVPN they also use Wireguard the speed is excellent, I’m using their service little over a year now and I never had any problem with their speed I watch 4k movie without happening.

You can read more about this provider on troypoint website also their is discount link.

Just went through this with one of my TiVo Stream 4K. Not playing through VPN connected about 80 miles away. Tested with a server roughly 3000 miles away and no issues which led me to believe it was a server issue itself or overload. Using Surfshark and not IPVanish

Thanks for your comment…

I was having problems with IPvanish a couple of days ago (specifically, wireguard) but it’s working fine now. I have spectrum cable internet - 450mbps down without VPN and between 400 and 430 down with IPvanish. If you’re getting 200 down without the VPN and only 15 with the VPN, then it’s not your network, wifi, or box - its the VPN service or setup.

IPVanish support is usually very good at providing support to its customers. I would contact them and fully describe the problem. Make sure you tell them the before and after speeds when using IPVanish. I had major problems setting up wiregaurd and the6 were ver6 helpful. But I believe there maybe dedicated servers etc for wiregaurd to work properly as they wanted me to connect to a particular server.

@gpleavin Funny you mention dedicated servers. I contacted ipvanish a few months ago regarding USTVGO and the blocked VPN channels. They gave me a server to try and it worked awesome. No channels blocked or telling me to buy ‘their’ VPN.

What server did they recommend to get around this problem?

@mattryan321 At the time it was Canadian…think a west coast server…might have it written down…I will look around for it.

Seemed odd without hesitation they said this one was ‘working’ with USTVGO. They could ‘see’ it…

Can you share that server? Last time I checked the one they suggested was in Ashburn but I can’t remember the precise server #.

Please post the information on which server it was when you find it.

Vancouver I suspect was the one.

@Miki It sounded like when talking to them it varies and it’s not always the same one. It would be awesome if we could see what they are seeing to pick the right server :relaxed:

Yes I agree. Location is just a start, then you need the server #, I do remember that IPV somehow managed to change the servers that got full access.

I know while using Surfshark as my vpn the absolute worst servers ive ever connected to were the Atlanta ones(at least for me) and the best was NewYork or LA even tho I am closer to the Houston servers. If you have aceess to the router you can change dns servers for a speed boost. Surfshark provides their own dns but they are not always the best and I constantly change due to internet congestion. I actually found an atlanta server blocking some of my apps. FYI

@Miki Yeah…just tried all 7 of them…no luck…

I use Nord mainly, but keep iPVanish as a backup. Most times iPVanish is just much slower for me, in the 90-100 range for speed no matter the settings. But Nord is consistently in the 140-150 range. When Nord is acting up, I’ll use iPVanish to get me buy until Nord is acting right again
