I saw a recent post referencing a “deal” on IPvanish through the Troypoint website. Just wanted to clarify that this (and all other IPvanish “specials”) are ONLY available to new subscribers. If you’re an existing subscriber, they get you for the full price. I tried talking to them but they flatly refused to honor the Troypoint rate. I think this should be clearly pointed out on the website ads.
The only way to get the advertised rates is to annually renew the account on a new email address.
Ya, after your first year discount it’s full price after that. I never got a “special” price from the beginning, about 6 years ago. I tried talking to them as my price was around $128/yr CDN, they refused to give me a break. I guess it depends who you get in customer service as some got a great deal. I cancelled my sub.
My subscription was set to expire, so I called customer service and asked for and received an extended 12 month 65% loyalty discount which came to 27.99USD.
