Not trying to be a complete noob here. When I had extreme before they shut down. I have a version of Smarters Pro that allowed for offline viewing by downloading movies and series. Is there such an app that exists with this option that isn’t a monthly subscription on top of the iptv subscription. Thanks for any insight.
I have used ADM (advanced download manager) to download in Stremio. This was just as an experiment as I never download anyway as I can watch any time with Stremio. Worked very well. You install ADM, configure it, start a vid in stremio, pause it and scroll to the bottom and run or use adb.

This will definitely work. When I travel, I’m without service a lot of times so offline viewing is a nice option to have.

I still belong to a dinosaur species (according to some fellow patrons) because my solution to offline viewing is to use torrent sites** to download the shows/movies to a storage folder, and watch from there using any of the players on my devices.
My favorite torrent site is a metacrawler [ Torrent Search Revolution - APK Download for Android | Aptoide Look for the horseshoe symbol] that aggregates 50+ torrent sites, including those Troy recommends at 20 Best Torrent Sites January 2026 (Working & Tested) . Great offline solution for travel, airplanes, backup when Stremio stutters.
** same sites from which Stremio etc pull content.

Lol. I wish. TorrentFreak and I worked together. Them in the Greece and me in Canada. 3 months in and I hab 65,000 members. Running servers all over the UK. Long before all the scrutiny and legal trash.
