I like my Nvidea shield, but I need help setting it up properly

Hey all,

I recently got my wifi speed upgraded to 500mps. However my Nvidia is only getting about 75mps without my vpn connected. Using Analiti for the tests.

My onn 4k ($20) is getting about 130mps right next to the Nvidia

I switched the hdmi cables but that didnt make a difference.

My onn pro is getting 468mps and it is closer to the router than the other 2.

Does my wifi setting on the Nvidia need to be changed? I have it at 5g and the signal is good.

I didnt change any setting on the onn bozes and they both increaded their speeds automatically.

I also did a reboot but that didnt fix the issue.

Edit: i reset the router and that increased my wifi speed but only to about 180 mps. Which is more than what i need right now so i am good for now. But curious why it isn’t closer to the 500mps like the Onn pro?

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

I know you’ve probably done this but do you have your Pro set to max performance?
Settings>Device Preferences>System>Processor mode>Max performance.

One other thought. I went into my modem/router and chose a different channel as I had a lot of others, close by, who were on the same channel as I was.

Thanks Miki. Yes i already had the max setting on.

I’ll look into the router when i get a chance. Its much better after the reset so for now no big deal.

Make sure you are using the Wireguard protocol. The channel change made a big difference for me. I am now locked onto 136.

I got my Nvidia Pro last year during the Black Friday sale. I did a bunch of searches on youtube and found that this one worked the best for me. You might be already getting things ironed out, but this guy’s tutorial is really good IMHO. Oh, and my Nvidia simply blows my Onn Pro out of the water as far as speed and elegance. So congrats on the new box!
