After checking online, Kodi is not available on the Firestick. You have to side load it. Which is a bit more work to get the things you want on there. You could just try to uninstall and reinstall Umbrella and the Coco Scrapers, Since Kodi is already on your Firestick. I still think your best bet for ease of use and loading apps is to get a different streaming box that is not an Amazon product.
I did what you mentioned, cleared data and it reinstalled, I never knew that. Had to re setup coco and umbrella, tested everything, and it seems to load and reload fine now. I’ll install that maintenence ap you mentioned also. Thank you avid!
If it acts up again, I’ll probably end up saying goodbye to firestick and go with a diferent box like dimonor9 mentioned.
Thank you both Avid and diminor9 for taking the time to help me.
This firestick in question is at my second home, so won’t be testing it more until I return after next week. The firestick at my other house has exact same setup, and never gave me this issue, strange, so must have been a corrupt setting or something in Kodi. I’ll update posting when I can , hope this fixed it. Thanks again!
I understand what you are saying and I get it. It is a habit I got into years ago when streaming was first starting out and boxes did not have a lot of memory space. I just continued the practice as it doesn’t hurt anything. But you are correct that the cache fills right back up upon opening Kodi. If I start having slow downs or problems with links in Kodi, I will do cache clearing on my individual addons.
If it’s working for live TV but not for Kodi then you definitely missed a setting somewhere. I’ll double check my settings in a little bit and post them. What add-ons are you using in Kodi? And are you sure you are choosing streams that have HDR?
Okay, first check your main Kodi settings. Go to Settings > Player Settings > Videos > Adjust Display HDR Mode “On’"
Then in the same window, scroll down and change your toggles under the “Processing” header. Allow hardware acceleration should be on for both options. Dolby Vision compatibility mode doesn’t make a difference for you if your TV doesn’t support it. But under “Allowed HDR Dynamic Metadata Formats” make sure you have Dolby Vision and HDR10+ **NOT SELECTED (white not yellow)
In Umbrella, go to Tools > Settings: Sorting and Filters
Prioritize HDR and DV to top - On
Prioritize DV above HDR - Off
Go down under source filtering and make sure “Remove Dolby Vision” is toggled on.
Always make sure to hit “okay" before exiting a settings menu or else the changes won’t stick.
A little update here like I promised I would do. Got back to my vacation house, Been running Kodi with no problems, loads everytime without having to reboot firestick like before. Clearing data then reinstalling umbrella worked. Thanks once again!
Last night wanting to watch a series with umbrella, there was no sound and a frozen picture. Tried several links and the same thing happened. Thanks for help in advance.
When an app goes horrible wrong for me, I often find it easier to delete and reinstall it. A bit of a pain but should be 10 minutes or less after you add debrid, Trakt and mess with the settings.
I’m setting up a new fire stick and I’ve installed the addon Umbrella and added real-debrid, it says no streams available. I do the same with The Crew and no problems, what am i doing wrong?
