Just started Stremio. Please explain about he message “ API token expired.” when Night of the living dead is started. What is that and how do I acquire a new one?
When I got to the point of the exo not working I found when I updated Streamio that it would work again.
PS @Troypoint Had to download the 32bit version apk file on my phone, transport to Nvidia Shield then do update.
That didn’t last long for me. I updated and it didn’t help the exo player. Clearing cache helped for a couple streams, then reoccured. Using an external helped but way to unstable as it is right now.
I could not fix Stremio after hours and hours of trying. My guess is a corrupt cloud server which corrupted my cloud account setup. So I finally took the easy route and logged out of Stremio, deleted my account created a new one, logged back in and had it set up in under 20 minutes and running like a fine tuned engine. Even reloaded my addons and library in that time. Back to having fun again.
@Miki why won’t. Stremio updates download with Troy’s toolbox. Says it is but doesn’t. Been having this issue for couple weeks. Now stremio says exo and vlc screw up, audio didn’t match what they’re saying in show. What’s going on
So you wiped out your account completely again and started a fresh Stremio install from scratch?
Did you do this once previously this week?
Stremio is totally messed up. Exo and vlc don’t work, audio not matching. And half the time won’t open. Onn 4k pro. Also stremio update won’t download from TROYPOINT toolbox what gives anybody
Delete it, download the Android TV version from Stremio.com, and install Just player or Bear player.
I uninstalled and reinstalled from playstore. They only have cer 1.9.8 and downloaded just play. App won’t open from Home Screen. I have to go to apps and open. Just play won’t open in torrentio or media fusion, just comet. It’s messed up.
Our files in the Toolbox are pointing directly to the Stremio.com downloads. Same files.
Most common problem on Toolbox downloads not working is that Stremio server is blocking VPN. If using VPN or clean web in Surfshark try disabling temporarily and then try downloading again. Those links in the Toolbox are pointing directly at the same APK files on the Stremio website.

I only did it once. Way easier than struggling with all the glitches. Just to be sure everyone, I DID NOT UNINSTALL STREMIO, it isn’t the app that is to blame , in my case, it seems to have been my cloud account and configuration that got corrupted, so I simply logged out of Stremio, deleted my account, created a new one, logged back in with the new account credentials and everything was back up and running like new. Only took me 20 minutes to reload all my addons and library. Have fun and STREAM ON!
I can play movies on Stremio but when I try TV shows I get the following message - Exo failed to play this video. Any ideas how to overcome this. TIA
@stuinn25 I get those player errors too but lazily, I just pick another stream, I do not know the root cause. I tried switching players a few times but gave up when that didn’t work either
We can wait for a Legend of Stremio to chime in and I’ll make any settings changes needed.
Get the “Just Video Player” from Troy’s toolbox. 
and install it. Then go into the Stremio settings and in the settings find “Default Player” and choose external. Then when a vid starts you will get a popup asking which player you want to use. Select Just and click always. Just player is a fork of the exoplayer but is being maintained unlike exoplayer. Now when you do start a movie scroll to the bottom to open the popout and then scroll right and long press on the gear icon. Quite a few settings there for you to choose, enable tunneled playback for sure. Also just to the left you will see a square with some broken lines. Click that and your subtitle pop out will open. Scroll down and select “English (forced)”. This will ensure that any foreign speaking parts in an english movie will display a translation of that foreign part down the bottom of your movie screen.
I was able to download the token from Real Debrid. All is well except chosen shows will not play on Stremio on TV but will on iMac.
just got a 4kplus onn tv box and installed stremio on it. Watched all the tutorials with my girlfriend to make sure we didn’t miss anything. When we opened up stremio and tried to stream a movie, instead of all the streams coming up, we had the movie showing with all different apps available to watch. Such as Amazon Prime, Netflix etc…
So basically we’re getting links to other services, not any torrents
