How to Install & Setup Stremio on Firestick/Android

I think you mean addons as APKs are Android Package Kits that contain installation files for specific apps. I would recommend trying a good Debrid service like TorBox that Troy recommends.

Hello there and yes I do have Torrentio installed! And I don’t know if I get streams with Nord turned off…I’m too scared to try! haha I’m such a baby.

I should also add…I get plenty of streams, it’s just not many ever connect. I go thru tons before I find one that works.

Hi I’ve followed the instructions to the letter but when I click on the install to streamio button nothing happens. I’ve tried this on 3 different web browsers but nothing happens. Don’t know what, if anything, I’m doing wrong. Anybody any ideas? I’m based in the UK if that makes any difference.

Cheers Steve

Make sure your Stremio app is open and logged in on your PC/Mac before trying to install the addon.

Hi, Stremio app is on my stick, not computer. This appears to be the way Troypoint’s instructions indicate.

Cheers

Steve

What you should understand is that your Stremio configuration is kept in the cloud. So, for instance, I have Stremio installed on my Samsung tablet. What this does is make it much easier to copy and paste stuff into an add-on configuration panel like lengthy API keys. Now, you only need to do any configuration on one device, and then those settings will be applied to any device you have Stremio installed on and logged into. So 2 pieces of advice. After making any add-on changes or additions on my tablet, I then go into my BuzzTV P6L, clear the cache and force close. Then I restart my Stremio and changes should now have been applied and useable. If, for some odd reason, this doesn’t work, clear cache, log out of Stremio, wait for a couple of minutes then start Stremio back up and log into it.
Now this adds an extra benefit that some may not be aware of. You can go to your friends house and if they have Stremio installed you can go into Stremio settings, log them out, start Stremio and log into your Stremio account, log in, and your setup is automatically applied including your library and watched settings.

Sounds like you are having trouble installing Stremio app using the Troypoint Toolbox site? May need VPN turned on over in UK. You are trying different browsers on Fire TV, you should be using Downloader to install the app?

This is truly bizarre. Why would the Torrentio developer care which VPN you use, which server you use, and screw around with your users’ experience when using your software?

You’d have to ask RD. They went ahead and blocked entire swaths of VPN addresses. On 6 seperate occasions I went into my RD account panel and noticed my VPN address had been blocked, I then had to take a screenshot of my VPN URL and connection and request that they whitelist it. They did every time, but then Proton went ahead and made it so I could no longer choose that specific VPN URL that I worked to get white listed. That’s why i switched to Nord.

Looks like Stremio is now available in the Amazon Appstore. I assume we don’t have to worry about Amazon removing that app on our Fire TV’s if they don’t have the exploit. Hopefully Tivimate gets on the approved Amazon apps list too.

Apologies if this has been addressed somewhere before (I can’t find it), but when using Stremio on a BuzzTV box with Surfshark VPN, either my Torbox or Premiumize—often both—addons don’t load/produce sources. I just get sources generated by the inferior default free addons. As soon as I turn the VPN off, both Torbox and PM sources appear.

Has anyone else encountered this? Does anyone know why this happens?

I believe this has been addressed. Try turning off the add blocking in SurfShark. Cleanweb I think it is. Then try it again.

That’s not it, at least not in this case. It’s turned off.

Noob here. Trying to install stremio on my firestick. I’ve watched the troypoint instructions & videos several times but something is not right. I’ve managed to install stremio on my android phone using an anonymous email account and it reflects that anonymous account on my phone (no problem) but when I sync the stremio app onto my firestick it shows my real email account not the anonymous email that I used to sign up with stremio! What am I doing wrong? Is there anyone that can help someone drowing here

I bootstrapped my granddaughters stremio and everything she’s been watching and her library was saved. It’s just the addons you chose that are are different or not depending on your choices. This was her first instance of bootstrapper and everything thing but addons stayed the same. Did the same thing for my daughter. I installed it over the existing stremio. This may have been significant.

Hi there, I’m looking to see if anyone has experienced a choppy picture on Stremio, even with MX Player Pro? This is the situation with mine. I use the Buzz TV 6 Ultimate Android box, and I just downloaded Stremio yesterday from Troypoint’s Downloader page. Do you think purchasing a debrid service will clear this problem up? If anybody can help me out, it would be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance :+1:

Typically, its a stream/internet/network issue that causes this.

First thing is I highly recommend using the 64 bit Stremio. Secondly I do occasionally get a bit of a jerky pic when I have FFd past say an intro. When that happens I click back once on the direction ring and that resyncs the pic and stops the jerking. Oh and I don’t use MX, just the internal Exoplayer which works fine for me.

Well, I’m posting in this stream as I don’t think anyone will read it if I post it on the ā€œStremio Installationā€ post………………

But what on earth is going on with Stremio? It gives the stupid cat ā€œBad httpsā€ error on EVERY Torrentio RD link (and there are hundreds!), Comet and Mediafusion return no links, scootio gives the same bad https error - and I’ve updated to 1.7, 1.8, and now 1,81 - same thing, Real debrid is installed correctly.

Cinema, BeeTV, Filmplus and NovaTV are working fine.

I have problems to all Debrid services and have to switch VPN servers. So for Debrid I use Montreal or Vancouver. For IPTV I use Chicago. So on the US servers I don’t get many, if any Debrid links, but get lots using Vancouver or Montreal.
