HIVE iptv service

Just a little off topic but was wondering if there was any science to suggest less channels would be better for buffering for example the 1500 channels versus 15,000 channels? Anybody got any thoughts on this would be appreciated. And yes that’s a great deal on that service!

Number of channels in a playlist will only affect your storage/data not the quality (buffering) of a single stream as you establish a single connection at a time.

That is why USTVGO is so popular. They have just about what everyone wants.40ish channels is what circa 1980’s maybe 70’s. 10,000 channels is way too much. I think an ideal plan would be 100 channels total with local team sports channels.

I find the same thing. This 20,000+ channels setup I’ve had. Then when you get into it you realize about 3/4 of the list are foreign language channels. So you trim your list down, and after many hours of finding your favourite channels you build a favourites list, and discover that you have between 70 to 100 channels and even those you regularly use only about 30. So I am seriously looking at your Hive suggestion as it is focused on channels I might actually have in a fave list. Thanks TXRon.

In my opinion, the channel amounts are just marketing to try and make their IPTV appear “better” than the next guy. They like to include every country’s channels, 24/7, music, etc in that count, when in reality it is just fluff. My criteria for good IPTV service is performance (uptime vs downtime), support (Discord or Telegram) and payment types (crypto, paypal, etc). If an IPTV service is solid on all of these fronts, I literally don’t care about the cost. IPTV is so much less expensive than cable, even paying for “expensive” IPTV is so much cheaper than a basic, garbage cable package.

That was what I was wondering, Thanks guys. Because I have about 60 channels in my fav’s but have over 15,000 channels total. Totally agree 100 channels and sports and I’m golden. Yes I need a cheap multiple connection like Hive. I think this new area is great.

My IPTV used that as an excuse for too much buffering so I did cut off all the foreign channels and it didn’t help.

Hey Miki, when a IPTV sets an IP, such as Hive 3-IP, how do they accomplish that if u use a vpn?

Removing channels and countries not used, from a playlist, will not affect the stream or connection that you are watching at all. You may see a small effect in the time it takes to update or initially load the list in say TiViMate, but that’s about all.

Most suppliers insist you sign up without an active VPN so that they can record your home IP. Many may in fact use your devices unique MAC ID. Now with say Tivimate you must log in, and so having signed up without an active vpn, and then having your vpn active, won’t matter as your login credentials are not IP locked, or rather most aren’t. Take RD for example. I forgot to turn off my VPN when purchasing additional months, and so my connection was refused and I couldn’t get more time. Turn off my vpn and login yo RD and paid for more time. When fone I simply turn the VPN back on and I’m g2g

That has never happened to me.
Years ago, I had to register my android box MAC for the Smart IPTV app purchase.

Services differ, some do some don’t. Most pay services have specific login credentials that let them know exactly who is using the service. Some are IP locked, some aren’t. Services are like devices, all do basically the same thing, but some do it differently than others. I do know that Tivimate Companion lists the devices I have connected and I only have 5 connections. So a variation of IP ID, Device ID and login creds.

No free trials! I dont like jumping into it without trying, but i could. 15 bucks isnt bad. I see they only offer reoccurring payments. I never do that ever.

The recurring payment is why I’m holding back. This locks me into recurring CC payments, like my old cable provider, and I don’t like that as if things go south they have my info. However my bank has just started offering prepaid credit cards with ability to load foreign currencies. So I’ll look into that. Then if there’s no money loaded onto it they can’t take anything.

I took a sub with recurring payments but set a calendar reminder 2 days in advance to stop if I want.

im not to worried about vod. i have everything. I may try it. but i dont like auto payments.

What attracts me is the 5 connections and 3 IPs, not to mention $70/6 mths. Yowsa.

3 ip’s and yes in theory you could share the cost with someone else. :sunglasses: :eyes:
