You cant access the playstore or your google account without doing that.

I have used it to get the Downloader app in the past and that’s probably it.

My Shield was not updating available apps. Somehow auto update was turned off.

To get the Live TV on your Nvidia Shield, Make sure your VPN is in the USA does not work in Canada

It’s blocked in Canada, we do not get free channels need a US IP

Fixed now and I am good to go. Everything Google has been updated and will auto update in the future. So grateful for the help.
