The latest set-top device from Google has been officially announced as the Google TV Streamer makes its way to the streaming market. This all-new media box looks to take the place of the ever-popular Chromecast with Google TV which will bring an end to the Chromecast lineup after many years of service. Many have been…
Looking forward to the release of the specs on this device.
Hopefully the cpu, storage, and ram will be better than the onn4k pro.If not they are going to have a tough sell.I’m hoping it’s more on par with the shield.Still not crazy about that remote though.
Chromecast has always been on the lower end of the spectrum. I doubt you will see a high priced box from Google. IMO this product will be more in line with the ONN 4K Pro and it would need to have more bells and whistles to deter someone from the ONN 4K Pro which for the price point is an incredible streaming box
Is there an echo in here lol?I thought that was pretty much what I said lol
I was responding to this. The Shield is a $200 box. I don’t think Google is going to make this high end. I think it will be closer to the ONN 4K Pro price wise. But I’d be surprised if it is as good
yea, pretty safe bet not in that price range.but seeing how the onn 4k pro has 3gb ram and 32gb storage,I would have to believe that google would want the chromecast to surpass those specs.I mean at some point one of these boxes will be pushing the shield in the specs dept.this might not be that (box).but imo google will have to sweeten the pot to compete with the onn 4k pro.
Yeah $200 paperweight!, my 4K Maxx is still kicking its butt!
I better make this my last post for the night, my avatar is all over the front page again!
I’ll trade you a better paperweight for that $200 paperweight.I guarantee no paper will get blown away lol
Looking forward to all the reviews!
For all you Chromecast junkies, stock up while you can…
I don’t see how this is considerably better for 2x the price of the ONN 4K Pro
pretty pricey for the extra gig of ram,but I imagine the processor will be a pretty big increase over the onn4k pro as well.In my mind it is getting right up there with the Shield. Will be pretty interesting to see how it performs. All that said I don’t plan on running out to buy one right away. Will wait to see the reviews and then maybe a black friday sale lol
Not sure it’s a better processor than the ONN. Unless I misread this isn’t this the same processor that they put in the 2021 4K Max?
Yeah I’d never pay $100 for this
It’s what 22% faster than the google chromecast 4k,which is still rated above the onn4k pro,in some of those tests. Now granted I don’t know what all that means, but it sounds to me like it should perform quite a bit better than the onn4k pro.But lets see how all the testing and reviews shake out.
Oh yes, you bet. It is a lot faster with more certification. Nothing wrong with the Max when they came out with that chipset. Just about half that price though. We’ll know more when the real world users get their hands on them and give their reviews.
Good morning Mr. @teehar be well my friend.
It should run good with 4/32 under the hood. As long as they don’t bog it down with BS
Just saw this article/announcement.
Looks like more “merging” work for @Miki
