Freevee not for .ca amazon accounts

I just set up 2 new sticks this morning and discovered something very odd. Once registered and configured I began to configure apps. I noticed that “Freevee” was gone?? That is to say it was nowhere in the apps at all. Even clicking the little TV on the apps bar did nothing. That’s a new one. The app store said it couldn’t find the app. Then I got a freevee apk from apkpure and installed it. When I finally got it to load a message said that content is not yet available in my area. ??? These sticks are registered to a .ca account and so aren’t allowed to use freevee apparently. Yes they are .com purchased sticks. But wait a minute, I have a vpn and a server in Dallas. A big part of the Firestick was their portability. Not any longer apparently.
Another nail in the FireTV coffin. I know many of you dislike FireTV and I ask politely and respectfully that you don’t start bashing me or the OS because I do like it. I made this post because I think everyone should be fully informed so they can make an educated decision on what device to get. This will be the deciding factor for many regarding Amazon.

Before you jump to conclusions, try testing other apps.

But seriously, the stick is protable plug n play if using mainstream apps. I wouldnt suggest this is happening yet without further investigation. Have you tried other location-based apps? Just because this is happening on one app doesnt mean this is actually going on.

I did test other apps. Sportsfire.tv for example. It will not run anything. No jumping here Dracoo. I’ve been at this since 5 this morning. At first I thought it was just the one stick, but both do it. I have a 3rd stick from the same lot and have a US registered account. It works flawlessly. Freevee included.

Still doesn’t mean to much, to be fair this is expected from a company who only wants you to use paid apps.

The os is fine but its locked by amazon. I know you like amazons fire tv but with limited accessibility and unaware of day to day changes it might be best to look at other avenues. The stick does great for your big three.

My suggestion to anyone out here who is looking into this to understand that firetv products are amazong for your mainstream apps. If you want to dive deeper or looking to cut the cord id suggest something like fourmler. If you want both certified and more control the nvida is your top dog.

But Dracoo freevee is an Amazon app and has disappeared from the two canadian account sticks. It returns a not in app store as well. Can’t get more main stream than their own apps.

true you would think they would permit freevee since they own it and can dish up ads with it.

Is it candian or us? I dont even have it on mine.

I have it on my American account registered stick. Very odd. All 3 sticks were bought from Amazon.com . So as I mentioned, it seems to only happen to .ca accounts. At least that is my finding so far.

Yup it’s in the playstore, but not the Canadian Amazon App Store. Lol. What the heck?

Looks like its American owned thats why.

Well, that is weird! They don’t carry their own app in thei8r own store. Can you download it from the play store?

Hey Dracoo, speaking of devices have you or TP tested the Homatics Box. I have been doing a bit of research on it and on paper it shows very, very good.

I actually got the apk from apkpure. It installs but when you open it you get a “this content is not yet available in your area” I assume the VPN is doing it’s job.

just another amlogic 905x4 with 2gb ram, google certified. I looked at them a ways back and just a decent box, nothing stands out or blows you away. Homatics seem to be in all kinds of sales so I imagine its just a china box they slapped therir logo on.

On other message groups it is being talked about as possibly unseating nVidia from its throne? They are saying the specs are better, at least on paper. The big concern being talked about is long- and short-term updates.

I am just now researching this device since I have never heard of it before. Although, you are correct that they have been around a lot in the electronics field. I have heard of the name, but never knew they made streaming devices, too.

lol, no where near a shield. Maybe on a mecool km2 level spec wise but it might not beat a km2 in a side by side. Homatics makes lotsa devices for the elderly like canes, vaporizers…you will see their products in walmart pharmacy.

Well, I’m old and maybe that’s where I saw their name? I think I saw them on my AARP account? lol
