I tried my phone firestick app (doesn’t see the firestick), new batteries in the remote. The TV says no signal check input. I unplugged the firestick from the tv and the mission adapter.
I Then tried disconnecting from mission and the Slim drive and connecting the old way.
Do I have a dead firestick?
It’s just weird that it turns on power and vol on but no home screen. It’s responding to the TV.
It will not reset using keypad. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!!
The only suggestion I have, is if you’re using a VPN the phone may not be seeing the stick, as it would not be seen to be on the same network. For printing, as an example, I have to turn my VPN off so that my phone sees the printers local “address”, and then can connect.
I user express vpn. In this case, my Sony tv input just stopped seeing the firestick in it’s input. I tried a hack to unplug all inputs and the tv and to press the tv off button for 30 sec before hooking it all back up. That didn’t work either. Maybe the firestick input is damaged. Need to check that next.
You could try to ‘Forget’ that connection. Look for wifi connections in your device’s settings and forget that connections. Then re-input your info and connect again.
A few months back I encountered the same problem after receiving a bad Amazon update (IMO). Upon troubleshooting the issue I discovered that after removing the external, expanded memory USB drive; the firestick 4K started working – with the exception of the Home button on the remote.
Tried everything to no avail but ultimately fixed the problem by using the procedures outlined on the following website:
GL2U!
BTW. The 128GB USB drive was so corrupted it showed 64GB when I had only put one small app on it. A quick reformat took care of it.
