Sorry I should not expect you to go back and read previous comments or to remember that I told you I can watch everything except Amazon Prime that I am paying for. YouTube, Facebook videos, no problem. I can understand theft is a problem, but I see no reason to block a paid subscription. I wanted to be able to use my iPhone data to watch Amazon Prime TV when I have no internet service. I still can if I jailbreak my phone and install Kodi. Are there any other apps that you know of that do not require a jailbreak? Ya, I know I can get a firestick, but I would always need wifi. So this HDCP blocking is on this phone created by Apple? This will be the last Apple product I will buy!
I just did a little more research. Went to Amazon and typed in "non-compliant HDCP cables. "
This is one that popped up----
Duttek 8K HDMI Coiled Cable, Ultra HD HDMI to HDMI Coiled Cable, Extreme Thin HDMI 2.1 Male Cable Support Dynamic HDR Up to 48Gbps Compatible with Camera Monitors, TV, Capture Cards 4FT/1.2M
Then asked this questionâ
are they HDCP compliant?
Yes, the cables are HDCP compliant, allowing for secure transmission of copyrighted content. The 8K HDMI coiled cables support the latest HDCP 2.3 protocol.
So the HDMI cables ALSO block video?
So the lightning to HDMI adapter should be HDCP compliant. Thatâs before the splitter. After the splitter, the content protection should be removed. But for good measure, try connecting the second HDMI out to another device like a Blu-ray player or something. Also, try restarting your phone and then start playing something on Amazon before plugging in the cable. When you plug the cable in, does anything happen at all? The video on the phone should pause and then you can push start again. And if HDCP is an issue, you should at least see a warning on the TV screen. If none of that works, then maybe something changed with iOS as a whole and thereâs no longer a way around it.
Video streaming Not compatible with phone says it all
After more research, it looks like youâre out of luck. The iOS 16 update blocks HDMI output for certain streaming apps on the software side. Itâs no longer an HDCP issue.
If using your data plan instead of being connected to WiFi is a necessity then I would trade in your phone for an Android and start using Kodi. You may even be able to use something like the Rii i8+ Bluetooth mini keyboard to control your phone while screen mirroring. That would certainly make Kodi easier to use on such a small touchscreen.
Alternatively, add an Android tablet to your data plan so you donât have to tie up your phone at all and can still use it. Get a tablet that you can still hook up to a TV via an HDMI cord or adapter. With a remote, you can also use Tivimate if you decide to subscribe to an âunverifiedâ IPTV provider. I do this on my tablet with a remote. But when watching IPTV on my phone I use Smarters because itâs built for touchscreens whereas Tivimate is not.

I remember when Charlie and Dave fixed their IRDs and chips, lol there is always a way around. My idea was a good idea. So Amazon gets their stuff back and profitable sales. Bezos is not going broke.
Yep1 next phone will not be apple
