Hey, yeah unfortunately. But, I bought the first version that came out back in ‘21. I was able to bypass the google sign in.

where does yahoo fit into all this?

Win Doze maybe? Roku? Which?

Been going on for years…

My hubby also still uses AOL
:sunglasses:

“ Alcoholics On Line”…. We’re still out here. Thanks for the kind words. It’s been a weird subject.

There’s a lot of people who still do… it was just the fear of Google and fear of Amazon, but you like AOL dichotomy. :woman_shrugging:

What are people doing that they are worried others will see? If you’re not doing anything weird you don’t need a VPN.

To each his own, keep on streaming.

It’s not what we consider illegal it’s what the powers that be consider illegal. I won’t ever go online without an active VPN. For me it’s for security. Identity theft is a thing. Open and unverified or protected public networks are a breeding ground for internet theft. I also wear my seatbelt when in a car, not because I don’t trust my car or my driving skills, but because I don’t trust the other drivers.

It’s the principle of having your ecospace openly accessible for those that want to voyeur, whether harmless or malicious. Internet crime is very real and cyber leeches are combing for victims all the time.

Do you only have curtains, blinds, or drapes on your windows purely for blocking out sunlight or is there a selective use of privacy and security that you find relevant?

Data harvesting is prevalent today, from ad marketing to homeland security protocols. I personally find much of that to be intrusive and a violation of my right for privacy. It should be my choice what I want to share. This will get worse as AI evolves.

A VPN is just one component that I find useful to achieve that end goal. It had nothing to do, for me at least, if it’s because I’m hiding anything criminal.

I get enough oversight from my daily life as it is. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
