Credit Card Security

What is the best way to pay for Amazon, Surfshark etc. using your credit card without it being able to be hacked and used to buy items as mine was yesterday.

Amazon and Surfshark should be fine, they both use secure payment protocols. What is the “etc” you refer to - maybe that’s what was hacked. Otherwise, you may have Malware on your computer.

I use a Monzo card for all contactless payments and internet purchases. I ensure it only has a minimum amount on it at anyone time or enough for the transaction only. For example if it has £10 and someone tries to use it’s details for £11 it won’t be processed. When not in use I freeze the card, whilst on holiday I leave the phone in the apartment go out with enough on the card if for some reason my card goes missing I can freeze the card once I get back to the apartment…I’ve had several attempts to use the details both after making contactless payments. It starts with an active card check and then they try to take an amount from the card. They normally try several times and then give up and move onto the next victim. So really you don’t need to order a new card just defrost make a payment and then freeze until the next time. Never had a problem since unfortunately having to work this way. I hope this helps
