I love my ONN 4K Pro, my Nvidia Shield, and even my 4KMax (Gen 2) - for as long as Spamazon doesn’t search and destroy as is the rumour and experience of some.
I have been rooting my android devices every time I would get a new one. I enjoy the freedom of the AOSP. One can do just about anything to a AOSP with a little tinkering. Thank you TP & fellow patron’s…
I’m a new patron but been following Troypoint for the last 8 years, have fixed my Amazon cube and purchased the Mecool km2 plus deluxe 2 days before the Google possible blocking news. Mecool is working fine after I figured how to get Kodi to work with android 14. Waiting now to see the full effect of Google and reviewing all of the streaming box reviews to see the best option when and if Google makes the Amazon move.
I prefer the UGOO’s device. Top notch
I enjoy the ONN 4k box. It works so well with the various apps included on the box and using a side loaded app for my IPTV streaming service. Please include me on the drawing for the Chinese Box!

So far I have been using the ONN PRO BOX, and like it a lot after many years of firestick devices. That might change in the near future again. We shall see!
Been using Amazon Fire TV/ Firestick for more years than care to remember and last year gotten a Xiaomi 3rd Gen box.
Much prefer the Xiaomi to Amazon, least you can disable to crap you don’t use and hide other stuff with a custom launcher.
Reckon I’ll be trying AOSP soon tho’, maybe the X88 box used in Troys vid, ‘cos only a matter of time afore Google pulls sideloading no matter what its lying ass says atm.
I use a Buzz tv box. It works best for streaming IPTV services in my opion. Because of the built in interface. I use a nvidia shield in my bedroom.
does not matter just like to play ,miss the old days opening up dish and direct tv cards and programing them i guess that shows my age,but i do like the new age of streaming
I’ve been using onn google tv. With the help of troypoint, this has worked out very well for me.
Thanks for everything Troy!

Kinhawk 1. I love it
I use Nvidia Shield and would not go back. Works flawless lee
like them all some have quirks but you find solutions
I’ve been using Firesticks since I started streaming years ago and have yet to try either a Certified Android TV device or an Android Open Source Project device. However, the prevailing winds seem to be blowing against those of us who customize our devices and they are clamping down on our ability to do with them as we please. Therefore, I think it is more likely that I’ll be able to continue streaming as I please with an AOSP device than a Certified device. I’ve heard they are a bit more complicated to configure but, with your invaluable help, I’m sure I can manage. (If I was able to adapt to using Linux in place of Windows, I’m confident I can do this as well!) ![]()
I love my ONN 4K PRO android tv box
I recently purchased the newer version ONN 4K Plus android tv box on black Friday. I haven’t set it up yet. I’ll get back and let you know as soon as I get the chance
Thanks Troy and everyone else for all your help, support, suggestions and teachings ![]()

Old school, Shield Pro on both tv’s for streaming, viewing content (and thxs for Insider forums particular to all things Shield related to keep everything running smoothly!!). But have a 7 yr old Minix Neo1 that is my backup when/if I need to take a Shield offline and it still works great but doesn’t support upscaling etc., but Shield is aging out and I would get current info to support a replacement strategy from the Insidet community - peace.
I love Android TV because it’s made for TV! A friend of mine had an Nvidia Shield TV, an Android TV streaming device, for years, and he still uses it!
