I’ve been using the onn 4k plus box but with all the changes coming from Google I recently bought a BuzzTV 6 and I thought this was suppose to be a AOSP that Google wouldn’t have any control over. WOW…. was I ever WRONG!!! GOOGLE IS TOTALLY BLOCKING ALL APPS THAT THEY DON’T HAVE CONTROL OF. I downloaded 15 web browsers NOT FROM GOOGLE and GOOGLE BLOCKED EVERY SINGLE ONE FROM WORKING!
i wanted to download APKPURE and they prevented me from being able to do that.
They blocked the ability to shut down app protect…. the list goes on and on. Google is totally controlling what you can and can’t do on BUZZTV 6. i AM TRULY SHOCKED! i connected the box to a androidtv/googletv. And I never use the Google TV stuff! The box is plugged into a hdmi slot and Google is still in control! There should be a law to prevent them from preventing us from using something that we buy and pay for to make it our own.
The Android TV/Google TV shows the BuzzTV 6 box as a NVIDIA SHIELD. I have never had one of those and I don’t think it knows what a BuzzTV 6 is. If BuzzTV 6 is AOSP. what right does Google have to stop me from dong anything on it???
If anyone ever finds a solution to stop Google’s intrusion into our life, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!
Um that isn’t entirely true. I have a BuzzTV P6L and sideload whatever apps I want. Just go into play protect and turn off app scanning. Open the playstore, click on your avatar on the top right, click Play Protect, turn off “Scan apps with Play Protect” and turn off “Improve harmful app detection”. There you’re done. I also go into Manage apps & games and turn off the auto-update. I check for updates once a week and only update things I want to update.
I’ve been so upset and disappointed and didn’t know how to do what you have written. I’m praying that it will work on mine!
If you have any more words of wisdom for me, on how to stop Google’s intrusion by disallowing apps to be downloaded and preventing others from working, I will be forever GRATEFUL!!!
for the price, can’t beat the onn boxes.. with the onn boxes.. just disable playprotect in the privacy security section, and any time you get the pop up window telling you your device is not protected by playprotect, just hit decline. I have not ever used a buzz box, or a nvidia shield. I guess I need too. but those onn boxes are so cheap.. its like buying a disposable lighter instead of a zippo

I am saving the info to use on my onn boxes. Multiple bedrooms with tvs and family members want their own favorites. This will help me with the onn boxes! I am scared with all the talk about Google banning apps, etc. Family always expects me to solve the problems and I am not an IT person… lol … but I do my best for them and sometimes I really need help!

pretty powerful box…do any of you guys that purchased one use it for anything more than streaming? i mean a cheap china T95 box is excellent for streaming and recording..not intending to disrespect anyone but 500US for a box just for streaming seems excessive to me?
i get it? wanting the newest technology is cool…i can barely afford groceries right now much less a high end box that peeps are only using to stream?
i hear some guy’s are actually using them to play high end video games? i’m old and that’s not me

Edit..after doing some reading using the search function…seems that some things like 4k hdr and dolby pass thru are important to some people? have no idea what those things are…my pix on my 80inch LG is excellent with my setup…no offense to any of you guy’s that have better eyesite and hearing than me…lol
Long life and future proofing. 64Bit apps. DDR5RAM. 256GBS of storage. Can load so many apps it’s crazy. I love testing apps and finding out how to get the best setup for myself and to help others. Absolute ease of recording and an onboard bay to add NVMe for a ton of space. The list goes on and on. Yes it’s expensive, but like the Shield Pro I am looking for a company and device, that stays relevant for year after year.
I just received my BuzzTV powerstation 6 unlimited today and I simply love it. The only thing I cannot get it working is the epg. Tried multiple things and no success. Anybody with this same problem?
Hi just wanted to thank everyone for the help on my buzz tv box..go it up and running..its alot like the onn box as far as the settings with a few improvements plus the gb internet port and 64 g memory..I’ve got the kodi and some other apps on it seems to be working well..going to try messing with this one abit..thanx everyone..oh as far as the app blocking on the amazon cubes so far I’m not having any problems..I only have surfshark analytics downloader and the kodi app on there..all on internal storage..not sure if that matters..my ext storage isn’t seeming to connect properly..anywho that’s my observations
I absolutely love my P6L Unlimited. Do I need it? Some may think not, and that’s an existential discussion for the ages. Am I glad I have one. Damn straight.
