Anonymous Stremio install video from troypoint

I give up for tonight. I’m tried from my phone too, no luck. Maybe I’m just overworked. Will try tomorrow after work. Thanks, will keep you posted

So, I rebooted the Onn Tv box, after it rebooted, Stremio was all good, RD incorporated. Now I can sleep good. Hey man, thanks alot. I was tired and aggravated. Now I can sleep. Definitely worth it

Sounds good. Hit me up if ya need assistance . I went through all this .

Loving Stremio. Anyway to permanently shut off subtitles? And how to delete downloads?

You can set up subs in the settings. Also, when you start a movie you can click your remotes “enter” button and 5 icons pop up on the top right, clicking what looks like a little keyboard also pops up subtitle options. That should help.

I realize this is an old thread. I didn’t want to start another for Stremio. I installed Stremio a few days ago because a Google update to my MeCool box pushed Android 14 onto it. That caused my Kodi to stop working. After several hours of trying to get Kodi to work, I decided to try Stremio. I also was confused by the duel app necessary to install it. By that I mean one on your laptop and one on the streaming box. Once that was understood, the rest was easy. My only problem was trying to figure out why I could get no subtitles. I researched for the past couple days until I figured out that using an external media player was the problem. Once I changed back to the internal Exo player, subtitles appeared as if from magic. I was using MX Player Pro because from what I read, the internal players in Stremio caused stuttering in video playback. I have not had this problem and Exo player is working fine. Wish I had known this from the start. But all well that ended well. Got my RD links working and my subtitles so I am a happy camper. Thanks to all who helped me along the way in another thread.

This is an older thread, but there is something not many people seem to know, since even today I see many replies saying “Use a different email provider for Stremio” etc.

Stremio does not need a real email. It only needs to be structured like one. You could sign up with this@isnotanema.il and it would work. There is no need to create a different email account for it whatsoever.

I’ve used my encrypted Proton e:mail for years. Stremio is not illegal and so I don’t see the need to use a fake e:mail. They never send spam or any e:mail to your account. An encrypted e:mail and a VPN and I think I’m about anonymous as you can get.

I just use my normal email as Stremio doesn’t seem to send out emails. But word of warning if you use a fake email as @girlwithanumbrella stated: make sure you remember this fake email if you plan on using Stremio on different devices, otherwise you will have to set up Stremio again as it will not transfer your settings/configs to the next device.

Of course, everyone should be using a password manager to remember account details anyway. I don’t even treat it as a fake email, more as a username. I know Stremio doesn’t send spam at all. It’s just that this guarantees 100% that if there should ever be a leak, you won’t have any issues at all.

Excellent point @girlwithanumbrella . I have a full security suite from Proton with a fully configurable Password vault that you can even give access to a trusted relative if needed and even make and manage multiple vaults. My suite also provides alias e:mails which are great for this sort of thing. Here’s to a buffer free weekend.
