Media companies are blaming Amazon’s Fire TV Stick for illegal streaming, leading to calls for Amazon to restrict its functionality. At the Financial Times’ Business of Football Summit, DAZN’s head of global rights, Tom Burrows, warned of an “almost crisis” in sports broadcasting due to piracy. Amazon fire TV stick needs know how many devices and users they will lose.If they socialize their stick thanks for getting the massages out!!
Its not Amazons problem, you can activate third party apps on any android device. If they want their streams secured they should go about that, rather then asking or blaming someone else for their needs or wants.
Shhhh …@MrH … don’t tell 'em that …well too late …
This makes me reminisce about the RIAA MP3 Wars back in the 90’s. They tried to blame the iPod and Sansa Clip for illegal mp3 downloading.
Good times.
I think it is price!
Accessibility to have all the streaming platforms would be so expensive. I’d like to see al the likes of Netflix, Paramount, Apple etc. form a union where people can have say, three or five of these services on a monthly basis for nominal fee or maybe £10/provider. I’m sure a lot more people would find this more palatable.
In the meantime…
Amazon will probably have a closed system with their new OS, much like Roku - so unauthorized apps any more.
If you have KODI or Stremio you already have Netflix, Paramount, Apple etc…Now the content will not be aligned in their formats but that’s the price you pay - wait a minute there is no price you pay!
Exactly… There is a cost, but it’s a fraction of what the pillars of the community are paying😉
Their new OS > Vega will probably be a couple of years away, if at all. Amazon has decided to go with Android 14 on the next firesticks.
It’s not just price it’s restrictions on location, I had big problems with getting Britbox to work in Asia.
They don’t learn it was Dvd region restriction that turned us all to piracy. Blue Ray was better and we thought they had realised what happened. No problem is back with vengeance.
Fxxk em I love my fire tv
