Adding storage storage to 2nd gen fire tv

Have a 2nd gen fire tv box, in back has a usb 2 slot and a micro usb slot. Can I partition a thumb drive or micro usb drive and set it up to record off tivimate, with remote adb command proccess? (Like the FS 4K, or FS 4K Max or Cube)
